This is the most intriguing game for me week one. ASU is more than a dark horse. I've picked the south correctly the last three years and I have them this year. The defense is going to be much improved and the offense has good options even after losing a couple of good players in Strong and Kelly.

I haven't dissected the match up but there are a couple of inherent built in advantages for A&M that I see off the bat. Namely, the blitzing scheme of ASU could potentially get ripped apart if they aren't careful. Also, Chavis can scheme a spread offense.

I think the line is 3 points in your favor with about a 36-30 scoreline. After taking your maroon glasses off, what are you seeing as advantages and disadvantages?

You know when a jumbo jet flies into a flock of ducks and chews up scores of them in it's engines?

A&M will dominate. They always come out in the beginning of the season looking hot with their explosive offense. But later on in the season when everybody has their offense figured out, they lose their swagger. It has happened the past two years now.

Well regardless of what happens, lets not dub A&M champions week 1. Maybe they learned their lesson.

From what I have read coming from their team message boards they are really worried about their Offensive and Defensive Lines.
They went as far as to say "huge weakness" and "biggest holes on team" in a couple reports I read.

I think that suits what A&M will try to do pretty well, and I consider our OL & DL to be strengths for our team.
We win the trenches, we win the game.

That QB can play though.

I think we will be more prepared. Sumlin is 5-1 in openers & bowl games. The only loss was the 12 win UF on Johnny's first ever start. Just look at last year. We went into USCe last year with a bad QB and dominated what was supposed to be a good team than turned out to be average.

I think A&M is just more talented as well. Check the recruit rankings. We outclass them at a few positions. They lost all their WRs while we bring back 3 with at least 40 catches. Only 1 of 7 teams that can claim that. Add in Kirk and we one of the best WR corps in the nation.

I would take either QB over Bercovici too. If they resort to throwing the ball 44+ times, which they did 3 times, 2 with Bercovico, then I don't think they'll stand a chance.

I know its been said all off season long, but the defense is going to be so much better than what we've seen the last 2 years. We have real talent. We have depth. We have a DC that is one of the best in the nation. All the reports coming out are positive on the D (I don't read much about early camp).

I like A&M to cover and cover easily.

Hope Graham spends as much time on the game plan as his hair.

I always think of first games as crap shoots, unless it's just a total mismatch.

LOL!!!! Sun Devils coming off of back to back 10 win seasons returning 16 starters and ATM thinks that patch on their shoulder will decide the outcome. Recruit rankings?

Ya'll better be ready to play. I live out here in the AZ and these ain't your daddy's Sun Devils anymore.

Coach Sumlin doesnt have time for metrosexual hair products.
He slaps on the visor and is ready to beat the hell.

They are definitely contenders. I read that when Graham got there they didn't have one defensive player over 6'1". They were talking about the difference in athlete from when he took over until now.

Likewise, they just don't make mistakes. They went from most penalized team to least penalized team in the PAC - 12.

PAC 12 south baw. Any decent team should have 10 wins. I'm sure they're good, but west coast boys don't know how to spell "power run" let alone stop it. I see Tra Carson getting 25 plus touches and 200 on the ground. If our d line plays to its ability, they'll have to throw 40+ times, which should play into Chavis' hands. If we can keep them under 30, I think we win.

Yup. They'll be salty. Young defense last year, now in their second year under new DC. Think they return 9 starters. Solid front with limited pass rush but their secondary is better than ATMs. Their 3 back rotation at RB is better than ATMs as well.

PAC 12 SOUTH is the toughest division of the PAC 12 bruh. You even know what you're talking about?
