I said this in 2010 and I’ll say it again. Going all the way through Omaha puts you behind in preparing for the next season, and is such a monumental achievement that it should give you more leeway the next year.

Now, if like this year the champ would otherwise miss the tourney, they should be slotted as the 4-seed in the 1 overall regional.

I’d still give us a better shot at taking down UCLA than whatever directional cow school on which that spot will be wasted.


This reminds me of when S. Carolina basketball won back to back NITs and some poster over there thought the real tournament champ should have to play the NIT champion to decide who gets the title.
