If I was in yall's situation I would just go back to France and never be heard from again.

The lawsuit and threats of expulsion are completely unnecessary IMO. The conference bylaws give the conference a lot of latitude as far as enforcement goes.
They made their rule, they stated the penalties. That was all they had to do.
If LSU violated the rule, then you start the penalty phase. Instead, they completely jumped the gun and sued LSU and then started talking about expulsion when the rule was never actually violated. That doesn't seem responsible on any level.
I think that aspect of it all was def. all about issuing a warning of what could follow.
I don't think the SEC has ever wanted LSU out (even now or two days ago) but I think they wanted to convey that they would do it or suspend if the parties don't come back to the meeting table and talk to one another in good faith.
As for rules and such... this is all less about recruiting and the kind of things we fans know about and more about internal conference operations and agreements, imo. Also, despite it all the SEC is not going to want to burn LSU to the ground by listing a bunch of stuff. I think the goal has always been to rein things in and get everyone back into alignment.
The difficult part is if the conference is right and LA governor is really controlling things, everyone involved from LSU to the conference has a problem.

I’m not sure which is more pathetic, the constant crying by LSU fans or the constant crying by anti-LSU fans.

So you are ok with someone telling you what to do with the money you earn?

I guess I don't understand the point of that. You already created a rule and gave extreme penalties for breaking it, why continue to escalate the situation?

Due to the way the structure operates, the Louisiana governor has always "controlled" LSU to varying degrees. That isn't really something new.
In the past, there were always factions that fought with each other though, and that's always kept a cap on LSU's effectiveness overall. The current group is either aligned or one person really is running the show, I don't think anyone not in those meetings would know for sure.

Nah, we did them in already. We like to stay here just to kick your redneck arse over and over again.

LSU athletics should be heavily sanctioned for inviting outside private investors to own a share of future SEC media rights. Three years of additional probation added onto the probation they are still currently on, a two year post season ban in all sports, a one year suspension for Ausberry, and a $50 million dollar fine (half the amount that LSU is trying to sell) would be appropriate.
The Gump fear is palpable...I don't blame you one bit with where your program is right now.

But the real issue is that the SEC rule is being challenged by players and for some reason the SEC is blaming Kiffin and LSU for the players and their attorneys seeing an opportunity pertaining to a bad rule- and one that had zero foresight as to what it might create.

The SEC has other problems, first and foremost they have a problem identifying their complaint and stating it clearly. Their first statements talked about players "choosing" to forego their eligibility. Talk about stupid, are they not aware that the crux of this case is that those players did not "choose" to do that? Who signed off on that?
Next they threatened to punish any team that signed players who the court had just ruled eligible. The court said "you can't do that", so the SEC went straight after LSU in federal court. That sequence of events looks like a legal non-sequitur to me. Was that your intent from the outset and the players were just collateral damage? No matter what forum issues the first definitive ruling, my guess is there are some judges waiting in the weeds to get a whack at this case.

The courts are what has ruined cfb anyways. People and teams wants things their way all the pulling in every direction is slowly tearing it apart. LSU started this mess and the sec finished it.

Can you link the lawsuit that LSU filed?

LSU was a potential landing spot for two out of many players seeking eligibility. LSU also complied every step of the way regarding SEC rules.

In this case - transferring publicly owned funds to private shareholders - not only should they be sanctioned, people should be arrested when/if it happens.

He is telling the SEC "you better take what you got and move on."

I am only guessing here but my theory there is that they felt it was the only way to get the point across. There's obviously been a severe breakdown in communication or none of this would've ever gotten to the point where any of us heard about it let alone where threats and jibes were going back and forth like a southern fried circus.

Right. I think the conference has been saying what they hear from LSU's president and what LSU does are two separate things. That is just reading between the lines not something I have heard anyone say directly. And I think that is the crux of the issue. The conference has to work via all the presidents working together and that means if a school president agrees to something the others expect that to be the case.
I think this where all the hang ups and hurt feelings lie.

The SEC is doing exactly what the NCAA did to get itself there. You can't argue that you need power over your own conference if you're selectively enforcing your own rules.

Many SEC programs have run to the courts to circumvent rules, LSU isn't the first, and won't be the last.
