Tennessee is pretty damn good this season. Arkansas will have to bring their A game again to take the series in Knoxville. Should make for some good baseball.
Tennessee is sort of similar, just without Kopps. Should be an interesting series.

You said he was racking up saves against midweek teams. Which was clearly not true. So move the bar.

Texas is probably being rewarded on the fact that they haven't lost a weekend series yet this year. That, and they're "leading the nation in wins" which was always used as a feather in the cap by you when a different UT was able to claim the same
All that matters is getting a top 8 seed by season's end. If both UTs keep their current pace, then neither will have anything to worry about on that front.

By the numbers, among ranked SEC teams, Mississippi State has the easiest remaining conference schedule, and Florida has the hardest. Fairly even everywhere else.
Had we won Sunday against Vandy we would be in a good position to wind up SEC champs but gonna be hard to catch Arkansas or Vandy now

Arkansas has one of those teams this year. You watch us play and say "well they could do better at this, or they really need to work on that" and then we go out and whip a top 5 team at their home stadium and keep rolling along.
That was MSU a few years ago in our deep CWS run when we won the FSU regional and the Vandy Super. That team was clutch

I'm equally impressed by our walks per game, which we also lead the nation in. It's one thing to hit a lot of taters, but if you are also getting runners on base (via walks), you give yourself more chances to push runners across home plate.
That’s the sign of not only having good hitters but a great hitting coach

Yeah y'alls team OBP% being over .400 is definitely salty. And what's nuts is Arkansas leads the nation in homeruns but no one on the team has more than 10. Everyone in your lineup can hit.
It really is kind of crazy.
Everyday starters:
Matt Goodheart - 11 HR
Robert Moore - 10 HR
Brady Slavens - 10 HR
Cayden Wallace - 9 HR
Christian Franklin - 9 HR
Cullen Smith plays 75% of the time has 6 HR.

Vermillion and Noland came back this past weekend. Noland never pitched because our starters had great weekends and Vermillion came in for a brief stint. He was pretty rusty though.
Pitching seems to be working itself our currently, but specifically starting pitching.

Ole Miss probably plays the most unforgiving schedule in the country.
This is never true for Ole Miss in any sport. Sometimes it's true for State, but Ole Miss is always protected.

I keep seeing things like this get posted, but who's better? Vandy's pitching holes have shown up, too. We did get a couple of guys back, but they aren't going be as nasty as Kopps is.
Arkansas's pitching seems to be just good enough and our batters lead the nation in walks and homers.
At this point in the season, all I can say is that it works for our team and nobody else looks like world beaters, either.
Our record vs ranked opponents is crazy good this season so I'm hoping this trend continues all the way to Omaha. Baseball is crazy, though, so who knows.

You're right. I should have qualified the statement, since Alabama and Auburn haven't been much better than most midweek teams.
He's only had one dominant appearance against a good SEC team....and that was one inning against Florida. He's been roughed up in the others.

Auburn is third in the league in hitting. SEC and overall. Just say he choked against very average hitting Stare and LSU teams. Because that’s the truth of it. It happens.

Contrast that with Vandy, who has Rocker and Leiter to get them deep into games 1 and 2 of a series, which takes a lot of pressure off of your pen.

At any rate, I was just curious if what I say in Fayetteville was peak Arkansas, or if the Hogs have a few more cards to play.

That 2018 Arkansas team also had a lineup where you had to be careful 1-9. They also spent the entire year ranked in the top 10, were a national seed, and made it to Omaha. 2019 was much of the same, but a little different with power distribution. I'm sensing a trend.

I could say that. But I won't, because it's making excuses for him. He's not as good as you guys think he is. I still laugh at the comments saying he was better than Landon Sims.

He’s the best we’ve got and he’s good enough. Again, leads the league by two games. Just because someone hurt your feelings about Landon Sims doesn’t mean you should be distributing false and corny takes. We expect him to beat teams like LSU and State, who really only have a few dangerous hitters in the lineups. We are rightly disappointed, because we should ha e 12 league wins and he should have 8 league saves.

We've never had this much pitching depth to also go along with our hitting.

Coach Van Horn is keeping the number of innings pitched very low per pitcher. It should pay off in postseason vs Vandy starters having huge inning counts.
The way the hogs are doing this creates questions and doubts in regard to the pitching staff but Coach Van Horn sure seems confident in them at times

This edition of Arkansas baseball is likely the best I have ever seen before.
The pitching talent has been there, but for the first part of the season, Wicklander was coming back off of injury and did not figure into the starting rotation. His last 4 outings or so have been great. Pallette has turned things around and has been pretty dominant his last few starts.
With Verimillion coming back from a sore arm, I expect him and Lockhart will split the Sunday work going forward. Prior to Verimillion having arm issues, he went 8 complete two weeks in a row.
Noland coming back boosts the pen. He is a seasoned SEC starter and former #1 on the staff. I expect we start seeing him worked into the regular rotation on weekends. It sucks that these last two weeks our midweek games have been canceled and he cant go and get game experience prior to an SEC game. Same with Verimillion last week.
