BaseVOLs didn't lose their midweek game.
Also, Perfect Game having Vandy at 7 is just dumb.

The three coming weekends will basically make or break Texas's season. They've won 13 games straight all against non-regional teams, while teams ahead of them had dropped series. Even Kendall Rodgers has said that they're ranked as high as they are mostly because they're beneficiaries of other teams losing while they've only done what they've supposed to.
RPI is 13, but I think that'll go up playing @OK State this weekend who is RPI 12

Not sure that OM shouldn't be ranked lower after shitting the bed three straight weekends. When we don't win the Friday night game vs. a good team, we essentially have no shot of winning that series.

Dropping a series is a much bigger deal than losing a mid week game. Mid week games matter very little. Indiana State has only lost one series at the beginning of the season to a ranked team. If Georgia had won one more game against Tennessee, A&M, or Carolina they would be ranked. The A&M series loss is the one that hurt you the most.
Georgia is playing great baseball now, they just need the teams directly in front of them to have a bad week.

And hasn’t played a team with a winning record since.

Hogs have maintained the lofty ranking while missing key pitchers.
Per Van Horn, staff is a full go this weekend. Last years #1 starter Noland is back from a forearm strain and Vermillion is back from arm soreness.
Vermillion has pitched 33 innings this season and posted a 2-0 record, started 6 games, with 19Ks. He went 8 innings against LaTech and Alabama earlier in the season.

LHP Doug Nikhazy, Mississippi.: Nikhazy threw a complete-game, 1-hit shutout against arch-rival Mississippi St. as he struck out 12 Bulldogs and walked two during a 9-0 win. Only three Mississippi State hitters reached base and none advanced past first base.
OF Evan Russell, Tennessee: Russell hit 4 home runs with 7 RBI as he went 4-for-14 at the plate over 4 games. He also scored 6 runs, walked 3 times and compiled 16 total bases. During a win over Vanderbilt, he drove in 6 of Tennessee’s eight runs.

quote:Losing a series to this year's A&M team will do that to you. Imagine if we'd scratched out a run in the 8th inning of game 2 against Arkansas. Would have been the first team in history to go from number one to unranked.
Georgia went 3-1 this week and still not ranked. #16 in ELO. The Anti-SEC bias continues

Bro, chill. We are 9-6 in the sec and only two games out of first. Nine road games in the first half and went 5-4 against rpi 10, 23 and 32 in those games. 10-15 is about where we belong.

It seems like SEC is seeing huge jumps down the rankings with losses that others don't see to be getting. I guess they got tired of the SEC when we were 1-5 and 7 of the top 12.
Ole Miss has lost three straight series. They were bound to have a bigger drop and honestly maybe would have dropped more than they have by now if the polls didn't respect the SEC as much as they do. The only other significant drop was Tennessee but only in one poll. They only droped 2 spots in the other polls. No one else dropped at all, and the SEC still has 3 teams in the top 5. They were bound to drop eventually when they started playing each other. There's still 5 top 10 SEC baseball teams, so I don't think they're tired of seeing them there.

Honestly it doesn’t matter. We are at the soft spot of our schedule and if we capitalize on these next two weekends like we should then we will not only end up ranked but will be in excellent position for a middle of the pack spot in Hoover and an NCAA tournament bid.
Ultimately this team is not making it to Omaha this year so the goal is get into a regional and try to win a couple for experience sake

Don’t be retarded. Kennesaw St is a good team.
Didn't they(KS) lose 2 of 3 to Lipscomb?

Doug has only given up 2 runs in 4 SEC starts this year. It's a shame that Ole Miss' bullpen is so bad.
