And one of the greatest role models in the history of the sport. Hats off to Mr. Walker.

Your point is evidently that Trump didn’t own the team that first year, when Walker was drafted but Trump did in fact own the team 2 of its 3 years

Point being is that he didn't sign Walker.

This has ZERO to do with the OP or my point.

Pales in comparison to what the Vikings were willing to give up to get Walker from the Cowboys. The picks became the nucleus for all of the great Cowboy teams to come.

Walker was fast, real fast, and big. But unlike Bo, he didn't have that lateral wiggle in his game.

And zero people were saying this about him when he was in college.

I will say is running style changed a little after he hurt his shoulder his Freshman year and he wore bigger, bulkier shoulder pads but still didn't affect his numbers or results except for YPC... which were higher his Freshman year

But who knew? College kids don't have NFL speed on the defense. Walker carved out a nice career and had the size and straight speed to make a good running back. I think coming out of Athens he would have been considered a lock for the pro-HOF. To be less than that would be a disappointment for all who saw him run in college.

Who knew what?

You claimed he didn't have lateral movement like Bo. I mean, thats easy enough to pick up in college especially since they played in the same era.

I will say I watched almost every one his games his Freshman year and his style changed slightly after that year obviously along with how defenses played him.Still had great vision and balance though.

Nice career? Lol

He is currently 12th in nfl history in all purpose yards (was 2nd at the time of his retirement behind Walter Payton)

He was 17th in nfl history in rushing yards at the time of his retirement (ahead of roger craig and gerald riggs)

He was 18th in nfl history in rushing TDs at the time of his retirement (tied with OJ Simpson).

None of that included USFL. There is no disappointment in Herschel's career. In the pros, he was the bellcow of bad teams.

Who knew he wasn't Jim Brown good. Who knew he wasn't going to give you a bigger Walter Payton with sprinter speed. Lateral speed is everything in sports. Dion Sanders could match up with the best because he had that hip flexibility. The guy could go sideways as fast as he could go straight. It's mostly a gift, like being able to jump out of the gym. Bo Jackson had it. I don't think he had the determination of a Hershal Walker in college but he was stuck in the wishbone and not lined up in the I-formation. But Bo was the more naturally gifted athlete.

Steve Young says “hold my beer”. In 1984, he signed a $40 million contract with the LA Express team in the USFL. Adjust that for inflation.

Here’s what’s crazy to me...He AVERAGED 30 carries a game...every year for 3 years in college. Insane by today’s standards. It was just a different game back then.
