Mac Jones can hand the ball off for all I care. Touchdowns are touchdowns, whether they come from a screen to a guy with track speed, a slant to a guy with track speed, or a post to a guy with track speed. Didn't he throw 3 Td's against auburn that were neither screens nor slants?

Well he threw 5 TDs and to be fair 1 was on a short pass into the flat. The receiver ran 100 yards for a TD.

He just happened to be wearing blue.

He’s gonna die on this hill no matter the cost.

He has quite literally never acknowledge even a mis-remembrance in the history of his time on this board. He's unable to concede a point, no matter how clearly and plainly he is proven to be wrong.

It's almost impressive.

But all he does is throw short passes. Well that's just because of the Arkansas game. Well you think he's gonna be Joe Burrow!

You totally missed my point. Bama threw those short passes because of how Defenses played those 4 WRs. It caused Safeties to play safer, DBs to play the short game softer and LBs to be forced to cover speedy WRs. Half of the problem is gone and the other big factor declared early at QB. They will be defended totally different next year. More run blitzes, more LBs playing the middle short routes. Jones will have to be much more accurate.

You act like we don’t have any other WRs. Metchie and Shavers are no slouches

As noted before, your entire premise is based on a fallacy. Mac Jones threw down the field quite often and quite successfully against 2 above average P5 defenses.

So, no, I didn't miss your point. I just noted it was wrong. And it was wrong.

Najee got a "return to school" grade from the NFL advisory committee. That's lower than round 3. This year's RB class is very deep. But continue your melt, it's highly entertaining!

They give a return to school grade to anyone below the 2nd round. Conventional draft wisdom today is that any RB that will be drafted should go because of how short the typical career has become. A lot of teams are shopping for starting backs in the later rounds today, too.

It’s his life and prerogative, but strictly by the numbers, it’s a risk. I hope he has a good, injury free season and it works out for him.

ETA: I don’t say this because he plays for Bama. I think CEH would be crazy to come back too, and he likely won’t go in the first three rounds.

So Defenses are not going to play Jones like I said ? So Bama's passing game wasn't a product of Tua's accuracy or speed at WR? Where have you proven me wrong, you just threw out stats without details and want all your followers to salute it. That is why I say stats in CF are FOS.

ps Some of those Jones completions were the factor of WR making good adjustments to underthrown passes.

Point : Mac Jones yards were because he threw short passes that his receivers ran with

Counterpoint : Stats say they weren't and that he threw the ball downfield quite often for almost half his yardage.

Response : College football stats are dumb and what about losing Tua?

What an idiot move

RBs depreciate quicker than any position in FB, makes no sense to take another year worth of hits for free

From what I’ve read, it’s a loaded RB draft class, but I’m no scout or analyst.

If that’s accurate, that combined with Sanders and whoever else they’re bringing in sharing the load could help get him a couple mil more in guaranteed $.

Gamble for sure, but there’s an argument both ways.

Again, most of his yardage was short passes turned into big runs

Somebody make some gifs of the 40-50 yard dimes Mac dropped on Auburn and Michigan.

But you failed to recognize that many of those passes were under thrown and WR either had such a gap with the defender or they adjusted to the poorly thrown pass. Bama's WRs made an average to poor pass go down as a big stat. I watched Burrow do the opposite with his WRs. Great accuracy and location where the WRs looked better than they really were.

You watched the games. Jones accuracy was in question every game he played. His WRs made him look better at times.

What % of the Offense production is coming back ? Alabama will always be able to plug in a RB, most teams do not lean on RBs anymore. Smith an Waddle are the only real playmakers and they still need someone to get the ball to them.

A nice % of the production will return and Mac has shown he and distribute the ball well. I'd imagine that 5* stud QB out of Cali will get his chances too.
