Which of the four returning starters have you not talked about? Or all the elite depth accumulated in last few classes?

If there weren't 3-4 "total package" backs (Swift, Ettiene, Dobbins, Taylor) he'd probably have a chance earlier. But I think he's clearly behind those 4, so his ceiling in the draft is a lot lower than maybe other years.

Has Ettiene declared. Some of my Clemson buddies seem to think he's leaning on coming back. I'm also aware they may not be the most reliable of sources

It's a good chance bama makes it to playoff,it's a definite Clemson will make it to playoff cause of their weak schedule. I say Lsu has a good chance if LSU hires one of two people to be their offense coordinator or pas game coordinator.

That's as many impact juniors as we've had return in 3-4 years

So, there really is something to this ... when you're on top you lose a lot of people but sink just a little and you retain some people.

Bama's looking to be in much better shape for 2020 than I would have thought. And we are losing more than I would have thought. Looks good for Bama. Sucks a little for us.

And seriously, I'm sure Mac Jones will improve. He was not a bad QB at all -- just had a bad game against Auburn. I'm sure he won't throw 2 pick sixes in a game ever again. Saban will have coached him up.

O-line? What tf are you talking about? We’re returning 4/5 starters and it’s the deepest position on our team

Not to mention that we will probably have the best OL in the nation next year

Didn't look like it this year.

If you try to jam Waddle he will run right past you

I was about to say. Waddle is strong as shite and fast to boot. Jamming him wouldn't be the best strategy. That may work with Smith but not Waddle

Again, most of his yardage was short passes turned into big runs.

Mac Jones was 23/37 for 596 yards, 6 TD and 1 INT on throws 10+ yards down the field

23% of his completions were 10+ yard throws and 40% of his yards were 10+ yard throws

So, no, most of his yardage was not on short passes

Again, most of his yardage was short passes turned into big runs. Those passes were created by the deep threat of Ruggs and Juedy. Now teams can jam Bama's WRs at the LOS and take a chance with Jones accuracy. You couldn't do that with Tua and the 4 WRs. It also created holes for Harris to run thru. The dynamics of Bama's Offense has totally changed and I haven't even talked about the OL.

Yeah jam Waddle/Smith and let me know when they're 15 yards behind your mediocre DBs. We also return 4 starts on the O-line.

Great post

But if you can not get them the ball, they are only important to the GMs the next spring. How many first round WR has LSU had the last 10 years.

This is silly, even for you

Really? We had 3 new starters and only gave up 11 sacks on the season

They don't give those types of grades and I doubt that pro scouts have reservations about him. There is probably another reason that Saban talked him into staying. Maybe he got a 3rd round grade and both Saban and Sarkisian told him that another year healthy could put him mid 1st round

George, do you have the stat for yards before contact around?

Nice stat, but again misleading. Take out the Ark game and then look at film of what he did. He underthrew many passes that their WR made up for. Jones is serviceable as a manager, but he will not withstand SEC Ds all season. Take away his biggest deep threat and now Defenses will be able to flood their normal passing lanes. I guess Bama fans are thinking if Burrow can do it, then Jones has to be able to do the same.

No one is thinking that Jones will be anywhere near the level of Tua or Burrow.

11 sacks and one QB. Tua was able to avoid the pressure, but it caught up to him twice this year. I said all year, Bama's OL was their weak link on Offense.

11/17 (65%)
274 yards
4 TD/1 INT
Average Depth of Target : 10.54 Yards

Again, you are wrong
