quote:My bad. Thanks for the correction. And the year before, the SEC had 12 teams in the postseason with 2 making it to the World Series.
Yes, there is parity in the conference. Whether or not that translates into the postseason, we'll soon find out.
Last year 13 SEC teams made the regionals with only one (Florida) advancing to the World Series.
Alabama also made it to the Women's College World Series last season.

If the SEC is as deep as it appears this year, and especially with the addition of Oklahoma (and Texas?) it should get 3-4 teams to the World Series this year. Hope it happens.

Pretty wild that LSU is the 9 seed in the SEC tournament, but is also 7th in the country in RPI.

You probably think if the #1 seeds in the basketball tournament don't make it to the final 4, they are not good teams.

Lsu wins 5-0 to advance and play OU tomorrow.

Oh sorry, my apologies. '21, '22, '23, & '24 - you are correct. And while we are at it, just go ahead and throw in 2000, 2013, 2016 & 2017 too. But that's as far back as I'm going.

But when you have 13 and 12 teams make it to regionals and only 2 make it past super regionals, it says something.
Maybe the league isn't as deep as it appears to be.
Parity, yes. Depth, ????
ETA: But like I said, with the addition of Oklahoma and Texas this year, the SEC could put 4 (or more) teams in the 8-team field. We'll see.
But getting back to your point, I still believe that Oklahoma will roll. But I also hope LSU makes me eat those words tomorrow.

1-hit shutout, good to see LSU pitching hopefully back on track.

Arkansas just walks it off with a Grand Slam from Bri Ellis and beat Georgia 5-1.

UGA loads the bases in the bottom of the 7th with Bri Ellis at the plate. She had seen 11 pitches all day (all balls). The first pitch in the zone all day and she hits a walk off Grand Slam

Florida offense once again melts in a key postseason situation.
Gonna say it again - would not be shocked at all to see this team go down in regionals.

Ole Miss showed a lot of fortitude to give up the lead in the bottom of the 7th and come back and win it.

If they do, get ready for a few seasons of dominance. This is the weakest OU team in many years.

Almost wish LSU would throw Heavener again against OU but they will ride with Berzon, who seems like she’s going through injury or something off the field.
LSU always seemed to hit Landry hard at ULL so interested to see how much better she is these days. I don’t watch frequently but definitely recall having a lot of success against her

OU is still the favorite to win it all in their backyard
LSU will have to play their best game of the year to win

Appreciate the thread! I've been keeping up with the results, but now I'm going to be able to actually watch some games starting today. I'm ready for some crazy single-elimination outcomes, not that anything from this point forward would be considered a big upset. Should be fun!

Sec really has to do something with their softball umpires … they may be the worse umpires in softball . They are wildly inconsistent across the board with the strike zone . I have seen a tighter and tighter strike zone in the sec tourney . It makes it unbearable to watch with all the walks .

5 years ago if you had told me that SC would beat Bama 3 out of 4 times in a season I would have thought you were crazy.
Much respect for the Bama program, its good to have a year where we compete
