MuLLLen, Drink, and Saban were the best values.

Eaux, Boom, and Mason (not a shock since it doesn't take a Vandy grad to figure out you can't divide by zero) were the worst.

Yall were a Nike away from really making the best bargin look even better, and making the contract 0 got look even worse.

Adjusted for different outcome in Florida/LSU game:

Florida - Mullen - $674,444.44 per win
LSU - Orgeron - $2,171,875.00 per win

Average cost per win was $1,121,751.41.

All three fired coaches (so far) had cost per win above the conference average.

The closest coach to the conference average was Gus Malzahn (+$28,248.59 per win compared to conference average).

I've always thought the arguments about these contracts were a little silly. Most of us have only a tiny contribution, if any, towards them, they are all insane amounts of money, and no one is satisfied with a bad season if the coach is paid less.

In all seriousness, the people who pay the salaries - and buyouts - look at these sort of things.

It just means more, baw.

Just for comparison, Matt Campbell at Iowa State - who had the benefit of playing an OOC game - had a cost per win of $ $462,500.00.

I remember the Red Stick baws making fun of Jimbo and his $7.5M for 7-5 last year ($1,071,428.57 per win).

That kind of cost per win on Orgeron's salary would have been 8.10 wins this season.

Orgeron has a contract of about $6 million per year for 6 years. The first 2 years he gets paid out for a life insurance policy. So this is actually the most he will make throughout the life of the contract.

This is obscene. I don't know what you do about it. But adjusted for inflation, the Stallings/Bears/Dyes got nowhere near this amount.

These are public institutions and amateur players. No, I'm not advocating paying players, not in the slightest.
