2020 Mac> 2019 Tua > 2019 Mac
2019 LSU beat 2019 Alabama because Tua made a couple of his patented big game mistakes. 2019 Alabama beats 2019 LSU with 2020 Mac playing quarterback for Bama. Difficult question whether Bama wins the 2019 Natty if Mac starts from game one of the 2019 season.

Another place where Bama is massively improved in 2020 is kicker and don't even try and debate that.

The only places the 2019 Alabama team was clearly better was the depth at WR. The O-line and defense as a a unit were both dramatically better in 2020. Najee was great both seasons. We had an all-a American level performance at kicker.
Tua is certainly more talented in the abstract then Mac Jones, but Jones objectively outperformed Tua’s peak level of play this year.

Team synergy 2020 > any Bama team in my life. Their combined efforts and level of play together made them much more effective in 2020 on offense than 2019. Tua had surgery in October with lots of other nicked up players on offense by mid-season.
The defense in 2019 was VERY young with a multitude of injuries. 2020 D much better as a whole unit. They upgraded at multiple positions there.
STs was much improved in 2020 as well as Reichard was injury free. Punting and PR was a wash.
2020 Bama > 2019 Bama. Sorry.

This is a perfect example.
On paper, they absolutely were. But, drive, team play, and injuries on the line took their effect and the spark just wasn't there like 2008 and especially 2009.
Lots of variables go into a championship caliber team. 2020 is the best Bama TEAM (not most talented at each individual position) of my lifetime.

Same goes for which team has the best season. There's a lot of luck that goes into it. Games are scheduled years in advance and you never know which teams will be good or bad in your division. If LSU and Auburn had just been ranked this year, it greatly improves Bama's claim for best season ever.
