Wow watching it now. I forgot all the great players in that game. I also forgot Wilson was the Bama QB

I hate that season. The only thing I remember about it was getting shelled by Utah in the Sugar Bowl

Tebow was the entire Florida offense with Harvin out. Now I understand why opposing fans hated him so much because despite knowing he was coming he still made you pay.

For me it wasn't because the kid could play, it was just the talking heads' incessant love affair with the guy. At times I felt like Verne Lundquist and Tracy Wolfson wanted desperately to have a threesome with him. College Game Day wouldn't shut up with the love either.

He's a great guy who has done a lot for his community, so I have absolutely no dislike for him as a player or a person, it was just the media's reaction to him that pissed me off.

He deserved every bit of the admiration. Every bit

I get that. I have met his entire family and him on several occasions and they really are genuine and Tim earned his admiration. Was it overboard at times ...yes but he deserves it.

I hated Tebow at UF, maybe more than any opposing player.

Tebow is a great human being though, and looking back now, what a great to watch him play,

Good ole Thom Brennaman.

“If you're fortunate enough to spend five minutes or 20 minutes around Tim Tebow, your life is better for it."

Thise urban Meyer and Tebow teams were tough to deal with. I feel like they would have beaten these UGA Kirby Smart teams.

Watch what ‘09 Bama did to them. That’s about what it would’ve looked like.

08 Florida still has the record for largest margin of victory over last 10 games of the season.

The college football fans of the World missed a hell of an opportunity for the 2008 championship game to be USC versus Florida. I think everyone knew that y'all were going to beat the brakes off Oklahoma. That USC defense versus that Florida offense would have been a great game but it's USC's fault for not taking care of business.

Yep. NOTHING good for Bama happened that season. No sense in bringing it up. Good call.

I enjoyed the 2008 regular season and the 2008 SECCG was a hard fought game. Alabama lost the Sugar Bowl because of Andre Smith’s indiscretion with an agent. Glad they reported it and declared him ineligible but after the RT got injured mid-game in the Sugar Bowl, Alabama’s offense could not maintain ball control as they had all season.

Nothing about Alabama not wanting it. That team was mostly Shula guys who had never played in a bowl that big before. Alabama lost because Utah had a guy at OLB/DE who played on the Ravens for years and Alabama had no starting tackles for most of the game.

Except they didn't. It was 17-14 late into the fourth quarter when the Gators iced the game with a TD with just over three minutes to play.

The fvck? It was the greatest regular season of my adult life. It was the year we re-emerged from the darkness.

Quit. The SEC championship was for all the marbles. Nobody cared after that. Smith sent home from bowl game and Steele working a deal with Clemson. Total disarray.
