Just depends which rules they played under.
2019 LSU probably couldn't handle Miami's physicality.
2001 Miami would be baffled by RPOs, HUNH, and half their players would be ejected for targeting.

Who's rules are we following? No modern team would make it with the old tackling rules.

Respectfully “Mike Rumph” isn’t shutting down Chase or Jefferson

In the final rankings, LSU played and beat 5 top 10 teams, Miami 1.
LSU played 5 teams with 2 or fewer losses, Miami played 1.
It was a far, far tougher schedule for LSU and they had to play 3 more games which were against elite teams.

It depends on what year's rules and standards we are going off of.

Portis, McGahee, Frank Gore
Portis had 220 rushes on the season. McGahee and Gore each carried the ball only 60 times (about 5 carries per game)

Shockey, Winslow JR
Shockey had 40 receptions on the season.....Winslow had 2.

Ray Lewis
What?! Ray Lewis was drafted in 1996.

Sean Taylor
Didn't start.

They had a ridiculously loaded roster when you look back on it now knowing that a lot of those guys went on to have HOF careers in the NFL, but a lot of those guys played very little in 2001.

You are a delusional miami fan who probably thinks they play a "hard" schedule every year, lol. The ACC is garbage.

didn't they go into OT vs Wake Forest that year ?

Rolle and Taylor were not big contributors, Winslow was non-existent, and McGahee while he played, was not some stud at that point, had like 300 yards and 3 TDs.
It was a super talented roster full of future NFL players, but they accomplished less in the 2001 season and LSU had far superior QB play which is most important.
And our defense was off the field for backups so much the stats don't back up how good it was. Stingley, Queen, Delpit, Fulton, Chaisson, etc. These guys are still writing their stories in the NFL.
ETA:
They had 2 hall of famers and 3rd in Frank Gore potentially, I wager we'll have at least 3 - Jefferson/Chase/Stingley, barring injury. Burrow could turn into one as well if he stays healthy.

Son, you need to go lie down. Granted, 2001 UM was good, but to disrespect 2019 LSU out of spite (when 99.9% of every source out there contradict your claims) simply because you feel threatened is a really bad look.

With all due respect, 2019 would beat that team into the ground. Miami had some studs but LSU had many more studs.

It would be an interesting matchup for sure. We would absolutely have nightmares blocking someone like Joseph or Wilfork. I always catch shite for saying this but our OL wasn’t as good as they looked on paper with the Joe Moore award. Burrow had elite pocket presence and mobility and Clyde’s spin move helped save a few negative plays. I do think we could throw on them and eventually hit some runs. Defensively i think our speed would be a problem (their D was very fast but our system was built to beat that vs a traditional 2001 pro style). Johnson is one of the best receivers I’ve ever seen but i like our corners and our whole secondary especially if Delpit is healthy like he was by the end of the year. I think it would come down to us having success in the pass game and them being able to have a balanced attack. Burrow vs Dorsey. (They were pretty dangerous in the return game as well so ST would need to play a part.)
LSU 27
Miami 17
LSU 27

Sorry but Ken Dorsey wasn’t beating that 19’ team.

2001 Miami is the most overrated team in CFB history.
There’s stupid takes and then tjeres theres gw dawg stupid. 2001 Miami had 16 future all pros no team comes close to this level of nfl talent. That’s just not knowing ball at all. Bad take barky.

LSU 2019 GOAT
That being said, Dorsey’s record as a starter was 38-2 (.974) …. And really 39-1.
The dude could beat whomever he wanted, and the LSU defense was decent, far from great.

Derick Brown has had a better first 7 years statistically in the NFL than Wilfork and missed a year, so really 6 years v 7 (106 games v. 90 games).
Brown:
Sacks - 13
TFL - 33
Tackles - 339
PD - 33
FF - 1
Wilfork:
Sacks - 9.5
TFL - 23
Tackles - 361
PD - 13
FF - 1
I understand Wilfork was a true nose and 3 inches shorter, but still worth pointing out.

I will say this again. In 15 games for LSU in 2019, no team ever had the ball on offense in the 4th quarter with the chance to tie or take the lead. That is really, really impressive considering the conference LSU played in and the other teams they beat that year in the 4-team playoff.

Why'd they bring up 2019 LSU?
