If adding a program needs all teams to agree, OU will never join.

I liked this idea until I saw you were an ATM fan. Who are you to make any determination about the SEC? The only commonality is both you and Ole Miss haven't won it.

Ahh so b/c the wrong person says the idea you like and know is good long term for the conference you reject it. Congrats. Your attitude is a perfect example of why Louisiana is falling apart.

Replace Ole Miss with NC State. New foothold in a state we don't have, actually in the southeast, slight upgrade in football history, better basketball history, comparable baseball.

If we get anyone it needs to be from North Carolina and/or Virginia. New states and new TV revenue that is worthwhile.

While I agree in principle, not going to happen because of rivalries and the huge buyouts. Also, as much as I hate to say it, the ACC is improving at a rapid rate. Then there is that basketball revenue.

Oklahoma is one of the 4-5 best college football programs of all time and has been a powerhouse since 2000. I think they'd be just fine.

Is it true that there is state legislature in Oklahoma that states OU and OSU play in the same conference? Or is it hyperbole and here say?

When we were leaving the Big 12 and there was talk of OU flirting with the PAC, the whole being handcuffed to OSU kept coming up. There might not actually be a law that states that, but I imagine they're pretty much a package deal. Bedlam is a huge deal for the folks in Oklahoma.

Took you long enough. You speak with absolute certainty when you really don't know at all if this would be a good thing long term for the conference. In terms of marketability and overall viewership(revenue for the conference)I just don't think the value is there to justify the risk. If it were, you gays never would have left the Big 12. No, adding a school from NC or VA is a better investment long term, imo.

UNC, Duke, Va Tech, and UVA probably not. But NC State would work perfect. They're overshadowed in their state as it is in basketball and academically. SEC membership could give them a huge boost.

I'm diametrically opposed to adding anyone else in the West (especially Oklahoma) outside of the regional footprint of the southeast. Worse comes to worst, replace OM with NC State and slide Mizzou to the West

Will never happen. The SEC will never kick out a program that once had Bear Bryant coaching them in the past. Too much history there......

Pretty much any decent sized school in a new state is worth more than having two schools in Mississippi. Kansas, Cincy, East Carolina... doesn't matter who.

This isn't the Southwest Conference or Texas and the dwarfs . This is the SEC. Sure we hate each other , but we don't throw each other under the bus . Ole Miss is here to stay . We may also take OU just to drive the nail in the Big 12 coffin.

We aren't throwing them under the bus, just out of the conference.

I dont know when you morons on here are going to realize that OU brings little to nothing to this table and dilutes the revenue to all other member schools.

You can make the arguement of substituting OU for OM is a wash and even a gain in TV but kicking out OM aint happening...

Oklahoma (3.9 million) has a larger state population than Arkansas (2.9m) and Mississippi (2.9m) by about a million people. It would absolutely be a net positive to bring them in w/o booting the terrible cheaters from Oxford. Dumping one of the two schools in the second smallest SEC state would 100% bring more money to the conference. Having two schools in such a small state is a net negative to the conference.

We'd be the new sheriff in town is what would happen, and the fabled SEC West supremacy would have a new overlord.

Oklahoma owns alabama. They have historically played a more challenging SOS than any sec team prior to 2012. Playing Nebraska, Texas and Colorado yearly, Those teams have more NCs than 90% of the sec. they recruit just as well as SEC teams and that would only improve. imagine OU with the sec recruiting pitch. They already recruit Texas, Cali and FL really well from the big 12. It would be downright scary.
