would love to see OU try to play more than an uninterested SEC team each year

Even putting aside the fact that it's a bullshite argument to begin with, at most you could make it for Alabama in the Sugar Bowl in 2013, even though Saban's claim was, as I mentioned, bullshite. Auburn last year was certainly not "uninterested", nor was Arkansas in 2001, Alabama in 2002 and 2003, LSU in 2003, Florida in 2008, Texas A&M in 2012 or Tennessee in 2014 and 2015. They went 7-3 in those 10 games against the SEC, and excuses about being "uninterested" are, again, bullshite. In every one of those games, the SEC team was playing for just as much as Oklahoma was, whether national championship or not.

Not that any of this would happen. But imagine the melt by the MS schools fans, if we replaced Ole Miss with Southern Miss?
They could possibly become the athletic flagship of MS.

I liked this idea until I saw you were an ATM fan. Who are you to make any determination about the SEC? The only commonality is both you and Ole Miss haven't won it.

Is it true that there is state legislature in Oklahoma that states OU and OSU play in the same conference? Or is it hyperbole and here say?

GTFO.

Ole Miss gets death. Kick out A&M or Mizzou.

12-team league again.

If we get anyone it needs to be from North Carolina and/or Virginia. New states and new TV revenue that is worthwhile.

no

also no

while there is no legislation saying OU and OkSU has to play in the same conference, politically OU would never be allowed to go somewhere without OkSU. They are a package deal.

2001 #10 OU 11-2 vs unranked Arkansas 7-5 and OU won 10-3

2002 unranked and on probation Alabama vs preseason #1 and #2 on game day OU
#2 OU 37 Bama 27

2003 #1 OU at unranked Alabama in Mike Shula's first year #1 OU 20 Bama 13

2003 #2 LSU vs #3 OU in the Sugar Bowl #2 LSU 21 #3 OU 14

2008 #1 Florida vs #2 OU in the BCSNC in the Orange Bowl #1 UF 24 #2 OU 14

2012 #10 Texas A&M vs #12 Oklahoma #10 aTm 41 #12 OU 13

2013 #10 OU vs #3 Alabama whose chance at an historic three peat vanished with the Kick Six. #10 OU 45 #3 Alabama 31

2014 #4 OU vs unranked Tennessee #4 OU 34 Tennessee 10

2015 #19 OU vs #23 Tennessee OU 31 UT 24 in 2OT

2016 #17 Auburn without a QB vs #7 OU and OU won 35-19

So yeah, OU went 7-3 in those games. But when it was a fair fight between closely matched teams, they are 2-3 even giving you the Bama Sugar Bowl. And they've struggled with mismatched opponents. Bring 'em on. They'd get their shite pushed in playing the SEC West regularly.

Ole Miss gets 5 more Scholarships taken away and the NCAA accepts the rest of their proposed penalties. Freeze keeps his job, but leaves after the end of this season.

I remember this game specifically. Oklahoma was supposed to be the all be all. Stoops was shitting his pants, and this is when anybody with any sense about college football knew Oklahoma was over-ranked, and yet they still got nod over an undefeated Auburn.
