I'm beginning to think everyone outside of the SEC is legitimately a bunch of window licking, short bus riding retards.

U mad? OU is on par with any team anywhere. Facts..this is before we even get into other sports like BBall, baseball, softball, golf, etc OU would be top 2 in all those listed and top in gymnastics. 5 national championships in 2017 for OU.

I'd much rather see expansion happen in North Carolina and Virginia (as a South Carolina fan).

But say Oklahoma somehow were added to the conference. Is that really a game that fanbases get excited about, ours at least?

You could talk about possible TV markets or something. I think the usual pro-Oklahoma argument in this respect is that adding them makes the SEC brand much stronger in populous Texas. (Is that really true though? There that many Oklahoma fans in Texas?)

But aside from that, would that really be a big game for the other schools in the conference to host?

I mean South Carolina always get excited when Alabama comes to town. Maybe it's a personal thing, but I'd rather play LSU, Alabama, Auburn, etc.

I guess A&M, Arkansas, and Missouri might like the game. But it's not like Mississippi State and Ole Miss don't play a lot of nationally ranked teams every year as it is.

And that would be one nasty road trip, worse than A&M for a lot of fan bases.

Let's say OU was in the top ten or something in a given year. Not like South Carolina for one, won't play 2 to 5 (literally) in a given year already due to their schedule without considering Oklahoma.

No idea if schools like LSU and Alabama would like to see them on the schedule every year. But from my perspective it's not a good move.

Love to get a North Carolina school on board. I imagine Georgia and the Tennessee schools would like it as well.

Also would love West Virginia. Maybe I could do a kickstarter to build a "Golden Couch." Love to play for that every year. My version would have a fuel reservoir and could be lit off for a glorious award scene at games end. Kind of Cecil B. DeMille. Our respective yokel fanbases will love it.

I'm sorry it burns your behind but the fact remains that OU is more valuable to the SEC than Ole Miss.

How about Ole Miss gets death, kick out Mizzou, add Texas and Oklahoma. Auburn moves to the East.

East:
Auburn
Georgia
Florida
South Carolina
Tennessee
Vandy
Kentucky

West:
Texas
A&M
Oklahoma
Arkansas
LSU
Miss State
Alabama

Oklahoma would be a great addition. Fantastic history, wild home games, built in rivals in Arkansas and Texas A&M. Adding Texas would bring back several old rivalries while preserving the Red River Shootout. I guess LSU fans would have to go back to playing Arkansas around Thanksgiving though.

Auburn moving East would end the great LSU/Auburn rivalry, but Auburn would get its rivalry game with Florida back.

2001 #10 OU 11-2 vs unranked Arkansas 7-5 and OU won 10-3

Arkie had recovered from a tough start and was playing pretty well by that time, with only a tense 41-38 loss to LSU in Tiger Stadium having kept them from winning the west, and OU didn't win their division in the Big XII either.
quote:

2002 unranked and on probation Alabama vs preseason #1 and #2 on game day OU
#2 OU 37 Bama 27

Unranked at the time, but Alabama had a very good team that year that would end up 10-3 and #11 in the final AP poll (ineligible for coaches). They finished with the best SEC record in the West but were ineligible for the division title, so Arkansas won it. OU wound up that season 12-2 and #5 in the final polls.
quote:

2003 #2 LSU vs #3 OU in the Sugar Bowl #2 LSU 21 #3 OU 14

2008 #1 Florida vs #2 OU in the BCSNC in the Orange Bowl #1 UF 24 #2 OU 14

2012 #10 Texas A&M vs #12 Oklahoma #10 aTm 41 #12 OU 13

2013 #10 OU vs #3 Alabama whose chance at an historic three peat vanished with the Kick Six. #10 OU 45 #3 Alabama 31
2015 #19 OU vs #23 Tennessee OU 31 UT 24 in 2OT

Those were all legit "fair fights" between teams of comparable standing with equal stakes to play for.
quote:

2016 #17 Auburn without a QB vs #7 OU and OU won 35-19

And so was this. The whole "without a QB" excuse is bullshite. Texas didn't have its QB for most of the 2009 NC game, either. Nor did LSU the whole second half of the 2002 season or the entire 2008 season. Tough. Those games still count.
quote:

2014 #4 OU vs unranked Tennessee #4 OU 34 Tennessee 10

This was really the only one where you could say it was a mismatch, and even then it's not like UT was a bottom feeder.

Stoops is an arse, IMO, and his trolling of the SEC is pathetic, but you have to give him his due in that he has held his own pretty well versus the SEC, although he's failed in the two biggest games, obviously.

Mizzou belongs with it's real rivals: Nebraska, Kansas, and Kansas St. I would like to see Mizzou join the Kansas schools and Notre Dame in the Big 10 when the Big 12 finally implodes. Let Maryland and Rutgers go back to the ACC with West Virginia. SEC grabs Oklahoma and Texas teams to get to 16, Pac 12 gets Texas Tech, BYU, and whatever 2 teams out of what remains (Colorado St, Hawaii, Boise St, Nevada, UNLV, San Diego St, Fresno St, New Mexico St, etc)
