This is pretty much the truth. Siloam Springs puts you over the top. Fayetteville has lost lots of points lately with the Leftist shitbirds who have taken over everything.

I don't mind being in the lower-growth end of the metro. frick Bentonville's traffic.

Bud Walton is/was next in line until COVID hit. It's going to be a massive renovation. Yurachek talked about it on the alumni association zoom meeting. Wider concourse. Improved everything. The only thing I can see people bitching about is the reduction of some of the upper deck seats by replacing them with suites. If they don't like losing the cheap seats then they need to start buying season ticket packages up there and make the demand so high that the money to replace them doesn't make sense.

I also heard a pretty big donation might be coming for our soccer program to build a new locker room and improved concession area. They just got a new locker room not too long ago so I will say that this might be very unlikely especially with the COVID mess.

Also, the Randal Tyson Indoor Track Center is under a major renovation. It is already one of only two IAFF Class 1 indoor facilities in the US, and the only one on a college campus.

John McDonnell Field is also in the midst of a $15M improvement project.

Minimum wage at Walmart is $11/hr. That's higher than the minimum wage in every SEC state.

Plus, most people don't make the minimum for very long.

The stuff about employees being on welfare and food stamps is mostly nonsense. There are better corporate citizens out there than Walmart, no doubt. They're the closest thing to a counter-weight to Amazon as there is right now.

Anyhoo, their philanthropy is the tits, at least locally.

Isn't there a Bud Walton Arena at Arky?

Well, yeah. It was built 26 years ago. Waltons don't fund athletics anymore. It isn't their thing. They're fancier than that. It's all art, academics and mountain biking.

A lot of it is targeted to help their company, too. The quality of life things (cycling, arts, etc) have the bonus element of helping them attract and retain top talent in Bentonville. They've built a really cool little town up there so far.

Correct me wrong but isn't Wal Mart one of the many big companies that support minimum wage hike? Economists like Thomas Sowell have said mw is a terrible policy that prices out the unskilled from the labor market.

Looks to be a small part:

The Waltons also donated $50M to the business school in 1998, thus the Sam M. Walton College of Business.

That's not much for a new build but the Walton's like to be "sustainable" and renovate existing buildings so they could stretch that 14m

Just talking about Bentonville sites that could be chosen

Yes, because they want to destroy public education.

You don't become as successful as Walmart has by wasting money on a lost cause like Arkansas football where you will get no return on your investment. Smart move.

This argument needs to die. Many of the associates in the stores make $12-14 an hour. The distribution centers make up to $19 an hour. Over $20 on weekend shift.

Some schools don't measure their success by one sport having one good year.
