They attached strings. They want some kind of campus center in Bentonville. Prepare for UA-Bentonville. In 100 years, Fayetteville will be the satellite campus.

Surprised they didn't use it to fund more mountain biking research or something

There's a saying about throwing good money after bad that applies here

Harry Rex will attest.

The Waltons have been throwing money into NW Arkansas... and Mizzou for that matter... for a couple of decades now.
We really should fight over the golden shopping cart.

Walmart Heirs are the biggest bunch of welfare queens to ever shite between a pair of shoes....frickers make billions off of food stamp recipients and paying low wages and then go about pretending to be charitable. When their employees ain't living on my dime and they donate some money to charity I will be impressed...as long as I am subsidizing their operating costs and they are donating to charity I will simply call them what they are...welfare queens....

People are paid what they agree to work for.
If you want socialism, go to Venezuela.
They donate millions of dollars to charity. I would bet you wouldn't be bitching if the Walton's gave money to Georgia.

Walmart pays their minimum wage people higher than minimum wage pretty much everywhere, and a person with a brain can make it into senior management there. Their current CEO used to work at a store.
It's not like they're Tyson, and importing people from third world countries to pay them next to nothing.

Waltons fund all types of charter-school and youth programs. They've poured money into both sides of the Mississippi delta recently, in education and in water-quality enhancement. They fund stuff in several states.
We see the obscenely big chunks of cash mostly in NW Arkansas, though.
