I advocate for two teams. This year it’s IU vs Ohio State

I forget what year it was .... OSU and Michigan were number 1 & 2 when they played their season ending game. 2006 maybe?

OSU won in a thriller ... I think it was 42-39.

OSU lost to Florida, was mudholed by Florida, 41-14 in the BCS national championship game.

There are other similar examples all of which destroy your contention.

Time off is always a good thing....long season, injuries, prepping for different teams etc....there has the be a reward for being ranked high going into the playoffs.

I didn’t come up with OSU and IU being #1 and #2, they are.

Do they give the top ranked teams time off, with byes, in the NCAA basketball or baseball tournaments?

Are you seriously trying to compare a violent impact on every play sport, with baseball and basketball?

use old BCS formula.

SEC teams will be rewarded due to SOS built in to computer polls and add back quality wins.

Just get rid of the playoffs all together and go back to pre BCS days.

4 teams. This is college football not the NFL and certainly not basketball. Its too tough to play that many games.

4 teams is enough to identify the best team. Although I would bet half my net worth we could have won it in 2010 in a 16 game PO. We were #16 at the end of the CCs. All our key players had gotten healthy and there's no way Auburn would have beaten us again. But we didn't deserve to be there being 9-3 regular season. The season has to count for more.

Everyone acts like there is not a formula for college football playoffs that has worked for years. Yet everyone ignores it and tries to invent their own.

Idiots

We don’t need computers. It’s obvious if you don’t let pretenders from insignificant conferences don’t get in.

It's going to be 24 teams in a few years on the outside because no one gives a frick about bowl games. You can't move the clock backwards and there is too much money in the Playoffs.

Read the orange part in the bottom left.

I’m still Partial to a playoff that involves each of the eight divisions having a championship, then letting each div play the division of the other conference it is beside.

Im partial to it because I want to SEC teams in the final and I think we want conference champ games.

Sec e avoids knocking the secw out of playoff in first round so you have secw play pac e while sec e plays a weakened ACC s.

You dont make it to play off without winning your 8 team div.

So let’s take Alabama’s season in this format.

They play all seven of their div.

They can play three of other div and two more from other conferences.

Eliminate the conference USA and sun belt games.

Make more money.

True but their tears are easier to dismiss. Oh no, you went 9-3 and got left out?! Sorry to hear it.

I don’t like the byes because of how long the teams have off. That’s enough time to get rusty. Two weeks off is much better.
