re: “You can’t lie to the American people about affordability”

Normal American home? I think not. A 30 year mortgage on a $400,000 house with 20% down at 6.3% is $2500/month.
A $4500/month normal home would be about an $800,000 house. That’s not normal. Not at all.
You guys need to reset yourself.

Praying for Jesse. I don’t for a minute agree with his politics and race baiting, but I’m sorry to hear about his medical issues.

A $500,000 starter home? Give me a break. I now live in a $450,000-$500,000 home, 4 bedroom, 2.5 bath. It’s not a starter home. It’s a house for a couple with 3-4 kids. Many homes in our area are in the $200,000-$300,000 range. Certainly your friends can afford those starter homes.

Surprise surprise surprise.
Sociology, psychology, African studies, womens studies majors etc. with student loans for those degrees cannot afford to buy a house. How about engineers, accountants, scientists, mathematicians, lawyers, doctors, finance professionals, economists, etc. ? All can afford houses in today's market. Don’t get bs degrees, rather learn a trade.
Save money, live within your means, accumulate wealth for a down payment. Sort off what we did 41 years ago. Mortgage interest was 12.75 %. You don’t start with a dream home or McMansion.

Trump is not scared of impeachment. If the feckless republicans lose the house next year, Trump will be impeached. The senate won’t convict, so it’s a show for the demorats. That’s all it is.

I don’t need to look this guy up to know what he’s all about. It is intuitively obvious. There’s no case and everyone knows it. The 2020 election was fraudulent and stolen, including the state of Georgia.
re: Is the USA failing at education?
Posted by Deplorableinohio on 11/12/25 at 7:56 am to TigerPlate
The elephant in the room is single parent households. No value of education on the home front. Teacher unions are down on the list. Administrators need to ensure teachers teach the curriculum as approved by the board. Too many district administrators have no clue what is going on in the classroom on a daily basis. Admin is more at fault than unionized teachers because they don’t know how to properly manage teachers.

He should have sent it back to the state legislatures to sort it out. Clearly it was a fraudulent election. The states might have punted anyway, but that would have been the right thing to do. We should have also had a debate in the house and senate to expose the corruption in the 2020 election.

Words of advice. Don’t become the aggressor, physically. You will only lose. I know you have lost your filter being retired, and that is understandable. Use your intellect and wisdom and defeat them with your ideas using words, like Charlie Kirk.
Otherwise you risk losing everything.

What’s in the GD bill? What did the republicans cave to?
Will the House pass the bill with demorat votes? Johnson will ignore the conservative caucus. Fact.

Anecdotal, but I have a SIL who was a teacher, and has been borrowing money since undergraduate school to obtain advanced degrees. Apparently you don’t need to pay anything back while in school getting an advanced degree. She’s still going to school. She’s a guidance counselor in an elementary school. She has degrees in education, philosophy, sociology, psychology, and MBA, and God knows what else. Only God knows how much she owes. My brother doesn’t even know. Don’t get me started on him, because that’s another story.
Both brother and SIL are terminally ill with an incurable case of TDS.
By the way my SIL is 62.

There’s a conspiracy for Charlie Kirk’s assassination. We don’t know what happened.
Likewise with Trump in butler and Florida. The lack of investigative journalism is astounding.

Gas is coming down. Electricity, not at all. No chance it’s gone from $250-300 to $146/month. That’s a billing/reading error.
