There have been plenty of hyped up "Games of the Century" but that truly was one.

I'm pretty sure any regular season game between the #1 and #2 ranked teams is called a "Game of the Century".

Difficult to call it the game of the century when we were 10 years into the 21st century

I mean, the phrase isn’t meant to be taken literally. According to all-knowing Wikipedia, here are the other GOTC’s…

1935: Notre Dame 18, @Ohio St 13
1935: SMU 20, @TCU 14
1945: (1)Army 32, (2)Navy 13
1946: (1)Army 0 @(2)Notre Dame 0
1963 Rose Bowl: (1)USC 42, (2)Wisconsin 37
1966: (1)Notre Dame 10, @(2)Michigan St 10
1967: @(4)USC 21, (1)UCLA 20
1969: (1)Texas 15, @(2)Arkansas 14
1971: (1)Nebraska 35, @(2)Oklahoma 31
1987 Fiesta: (2)Penn St 14, (1)Miami 10
1991: (2)Miami 17, @(1)Florida St 16
1993: @(2)Notre Dame 31, (1)Florida St 24
2006 Rose: (2)Texas 41, (1)USC 38
2006: @(1)Ohio St 42, (2)Michigan 39
2009 SECCG: (2)Alabama 32, (1)Florida 13
2011: (1)LSU 9, @(2)Alabama 6
2019: (2)LSU 46, @(3)Alabama 41

-the 2019 LSU-Bama game was 1 v 2 in the AP poll and coaches
-of the 17 games, I’m only familiar with 9 of them actually being called GOTC

The disappointment after losing that game was tough. But damn what a football game. Hats off to the Fightin Tigers 13 years ago today.

Dude if you think that Milroe is bad, then you would be in a nut house if Jefferson was our QB.

We were blessed with a defensive slugfest that gave us 9-6. I honestly miss this type of game

No you don’t

That was the most boring game of all time

We just miss it now because we haven’t fielded a defense like that in forever.

Jarrett Lee and Jordan Jefferson both sucked. Jordan Jefferson was a poor man’s Milroe.

Yes, I do. There’s an in-between with this and 46-41, maybe similar to the 2012 and 2014 games. That said, I do miss a 9-6 slugfest. It was like 06 Auburn and that 7-3 headbanger.

Points are at a premium, so each score seemingly means more. Each turnover means more. Shootouts were fun when they were rare, but that’s the norm these days.

Who announced that game? Can't remember

That game would gave been one of those games that I'd have loved to have heard Keith Jackson and Larry Munson announce.

That 2011 LSU was unreal and I don’t think they get the credit they deserve due to 1 bad game after running the table all year. They handled every team including the big east champ, pac 10 champ and the eventual national champs. If only Oklahoma state wouldn’t have choked, the 2011 lsu team would be considered the greatest team of all time, even besting 2019 LSU

This game had it all!

I know Ha-Ha showed up in a Key and Peele skit, and pretty sure Barkevious was mentioned in their opening stand-up routine.

At the time, the LSU offense was statistically very good. Offenses in the SEC weren’t pass happy yet. It was a smashmouth league and both teams fit the bill.
