At the risk of sounding political, the LSU fans saying ahead of the fact "if I lose it was cheating and if I win it was fair" is commonly said by someone MUCH HIGHER UP.

Again... WHY do the judges do this? What is their motivation for deciding who they think should win...Does the "reputation of the team" bias occur for other teams... or just OU.

I think we have seen this over the years where a top program gets the benefit of the doubt on calls or scoring. OU has been the standard in gym for quite a while, judges come into the arena with an expectation that OU is going to score well. It becomes self-fulfilling.

We saw a similar bias with Alabama in football and Duke in basketball when those programs were the standard bearers in their sports and would get the benefit of a lot of calls.

How many different ways will the judges find to cook the frick out of OU's scores?

There have been times when LSU was against lesser opponents where they made a mistake that was not penalized as much a it could've been. Just because you don't want to hear about OU favoritism doesn't mean it isn't true.

And just because sore losers say it does, doesn't make it true. It looks a lot like laying the foundation for losing, which frankly should be above fans of LSU's gymnastics. That program is solid, and they get just as much street cred as OU. IF not, they would not have beaten OU in Baton Rouge last season.. you didn't see OU fans clamoring that LSU got home cooking on that one, they were clutch.

This is not what either of us were saying. You either have terrible reading comprehension skills or are overly sensitive. Bias exists in life in all forms. It's a real phenomenon. Unfortunately, it affects any sport where judging is involved. Yes, LSU probably benefits from it against certain opponents too. OU seems to benefit the most, currently. Maybe you can stop bleeding over the place and letting your TDS show at the same time.

How does this explain LSU winning the title 2 years ago if it was predetermined? And then last year, since OU won it but LSU was the prior winner? Why didn’t they give LSU the prior year credit?

Some of you are just sore arse losers. Its the refs fault if you lose and the teams credit if you win.

Why do you even care about sports if you go thru life blaming refs for every failure to win?

Its amazing seeing some of the posts this thread about ref conspiracies against LSU. My goodness some of you are weak.

Georgia sitting at #6 is kind of pathetic for us. I miss Suzanne Yoculan who notched 16 SEC Championships and 10 National Championships (the most of any NCAA school) including 5 straight between 2005 and 2009. We need to step it up.

Like Lily Pederson on January 26th, where her foot clearly hit the mat on the uneven bars, which is an automatic 0.3 deduction, but she still scored a 9.825.
Which means the judges gave her 9.8 and 9.85. NEITHER judge saw it??!

OU fell on their arse TWICE in vault during the semis, so the judges had no choice but score them low. OU misses the finals. LSU was clear #2 ranked all year.

Thank you for proving my point.

You beat us less than a point in Norman with your judging, which will happen against LSU too.

Oklahoma Sooners defeated No. 4 Alabama Crimson Tide 198.200-197.475

OU performed incredibly well in that meet. We were pretty dang good but they were better.

And not saying they haven’t benefited from questionable scores at times. But they beat us that day.

As anyone who follows the sport knows, OU is very, very, very good. I typically find it difficult to cheer for LSU in pretty much anything but wouldn’t mind seeing an upset tonight (although I’ll be watching Bama at Auburn that’s on at the same time I think).

The only point proven on this thread is LSU fans are the biggest ref crybabies in sports.

And about that meet. OU lost and it wasn’t because if refs. Shocker to LSU fans who only ever lose because of refs.

OU coaches are to blame. The equipment was faulty and set up wrong. However, coaches are allowed to inspect equipment before the meet starts and the coach who should have inspected fricked up. They discovered it halfway thru that round but the damage was done.

We don’t use refs to rest our hats on or in defeat. But LSU fans are the worst about ref blaming. Unless they win.

Not all LSU fans either. But a huge number. If its baseball the ump is calling bad for them only. Football is all refs calling penalties against LSU. Basketball is refs calling fouls. Gym is giving other teams extra points. Its the same story in all of sports.

And everyone here sees it. Go to any LSU sports game thread and usually refs are brought ip within first few pages. Then its on, ref bashing galore. Unless they are winning. Then its a great team win.
