Things get underway Friday along the banks of the mighty Missiouri River. Find a way to get there!

Ole Miss and North Carolina will face off in their opening game of the 2026 Men’s College World Series on Friday, June 12, in Omaha. The game is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT and will be televised on ESPN.

We have a very manageable side of the bracket. Our side includes:

Ole Miss
Troy
West Virginia
UNC

Couldn't ask for a better bracket. We have a good chance to advance to the championship series.

Once there we face one of

Oklahoma, Texas, Georgia, Alabama

I think we are probably better than any team on our side of the bracket. And probably not as good as pretty much any team on the other side of the bracket.

We've gotten some tough breaks over the years. So this one is kind of a stroke of good luck. I'll take it.

If we can get to the championship series, anything can happen.

you forgot Alabama who could make a bit of noise.

We have a very good chance of advancing to the title series but the game is never played on paper. Gotta go out there and keep doing what we’ve been doing and hopefully we’ll be lifting another trophy

I'll be honest, UNC scares me a lot on our side of the bracket. Definitely rooting for a USC win today

Yes of course you're right. Alabama is as good as any of those guys. Crazy how lopsided the bracket it. We're the best team on our side and there are at least 5 teams on the other side who are solidly better than we are.

Only reason I say we are better than Southern Cal is because they play the same joke of a schedule that UCLA does. West Virginia looks good but I cant imagine that's anything other than a mirage.

Glad to see State losing. The thought of seeing them later is too scary to even consider.

I assume we get the Friday night game against either UNC or USC?

We are on a crash course against the dawgs in the finale like globo gym and the average joes , or Permian and Dallas Carter (in the movie, of course it didn’t play out like that in real life)

I think we make it to the natty and play Texas or Georgia. One of those two will win it all.

Hope usc can hold on here. I know we’ve already lost to both Texas and Georgia but we did take one in Austin and should’ve won the series against Georgia. I’d feel pretty good about our chances in a national championship against them.

Did some quick research on UNC.

Their ace DeCaro is pretty good with a low era and great record, but there have been several games where he has gone less than five innings. The guy that comes into relieve him seems to be solid too. Similar to Elliot and hooks for us.

They have two guys who can mash and are solid throughout the lineup, but we are clearly a better power hitting team than them with several more HR’s.
We have two guys with 45 HR’s combined their highest HR hitter is 16.

They won the series against Georgia Tech during the season and lost to Georgia Tech in the ACC tournament. They squeaked past USC, who was swept by Nebraska.

They’ve won a lot of games but they played a very soft schedule.

Don't look now but Bianco has won 4 straight Super Regional games and 7 of his last 9. Just took him a decade and a half to learn to take 2/3.
