Even with Mars.. Don't think he is getting the waiver.

I didn’t realize they were arguing for a medical redshirt for 2022. I thought they were just going with the Pavia argument that he should get more time because he initially played at a lower level, which I’ve never fully understood how he won that.

Mars sent a letter to the NCAA saying that Chambliss would face irreparable harm if not approved. That is lawyer speak for, "We will sue your arse." The NCAA will likely back down.

Different case. Pavia played JC and his lawyer argued that shouldn’t count against his eligibility because it’s not NCAA. Chambliss was D2 which is NCAA

Which is why I was confused why we thought he could get a waiver. I didn’t know they were trying to get a medical redshirt.

The Pavia ruling -- if I understand it correctly -- basically says that JC doesn't count. Which has crazy implications. So basically Mississippi can have a two year JC farm program. Where kids can play and theoretically even get paid. While competing to earn a spot at either State or OM..where they will have 5 years to play 4. We could have guys 25 years old making millions a year playing college football and then basically retiring.

I thought the argument was Trinidad only played 2 games his first year in division 2 before they added redshirts to division 2 players. I’m guessing Ole Miss is arguing that Trinidad should’ve been medically redshirted that season because of an injury. It just sounds like Mars is telling them to either clear him or we will sue you.

The “injury” was respiratory problems due to chronic tonsillitis. The NCAA wants more medical documentation to support the claims needing his tonsils removed kept him from starting.

Have we really offered Lacy $1.5 million? I saw where he's advertising a youth camp in Oxford next season.

But on social media he's going to look great in purple? Ask any LSU fan, they'll tell you. Oh, and that they're going to win the Super Bowl next year, also.

Love Lacy but let him go to LSU at that price.

Lacy is a key reason why we made the playoffs. Seems worth it, but I'm not the one having to drop that much money...

If those reports of Oxford bringing in $74M for the playoff are close to accurate, there are plenty of people who should be willing to pony up some money for him. Know it's an overpay but I'm sure we got him this year for next to nothing so I'd say we owe him. Love watching him play and want him to announce he's from ole miss when he's in the nfl.
