Arnett officially announced as a hire today

It’s a shame the public has to wait weeks for this as Ranting scooped it weeks ago and we all knew it then

Ranting knew this hire was gonna be made minutes after he interviewed Arnett.

I am not one to gloat, but man I was shocked it took this long. I was able to move to an entirely different town between posting that here and the guys who get paid to do it breaking the story.

I don't even really understand what an analyst does.

Pretty sure it’s just a workaround to hire more coaches than are technically allowed by the NCAA.

Game planning, film study, just not working on the field with players. Saban pioneered the role on his staff.

Local radio host and State recruiting guru got their panties in a wad this morning over DJ predicting Cunningham will go to OM. Guru said he felt good about him going to State. Interesting if nothing else.

DJ crystal-balls everyone to Ole Miss at one point or another. We could do better.

I’m not sure if I’ve explained this before but here’s how this works. Internally 247 gives out bonuses for getting a certain number of predictions correct. Well, the earlier you are on the pick, the more points you get. So David basically throws shite at the wall hoping it will stick because if it does he gets a fatter check. It’s a good way to make a few hundred extra bucks but it has absolutely destroyed his credibility. Cunningham will only be attending ole miss or state. Both staffs are aware of this. His father is a preacher and will be unable to attend away games/home games if his son were to go out of state. The staff is in a unique challenge because they’re having to basically uproot Cunningham’s childhood fandom and convince him to go to the enemy. I know he does like us, and the best possible chance we have is having an extraordinary season where every game is rocking, we’re the talk of college football, offense looks incredible, etc while state looks stagnant and boring in all aspects. His recruitment is just getting started but we are playing defense. Not saying it can’t be done. It’s possible

Some notes I’ve heard so far: Trey Amos is basically Jalen Ramsey light. They love him and he is a baller. Well, Cayden Lee basically came in and cooked every corner the past two days. We have a mini OBJ on our hands. I’m so fricking excited for this kid. This is one of those random 3 star finds that will turn out like Judkins (not in a bad way). Princely Unmanmielen or however tf you say it is a monster and Walter Nolen is as advertised. It’s a scary thought when the worst player on your D Line is Jared Ivey

Would be an idiot to go to State. If he wants to never make in the nfl then State is his best option.

David doesn't really ever have any true inside scoop information. People that pay for 247, On3, or Rivals subscriptions for scoops are being played. The fact is that Kiffin does a decent job of keeping information hushed unless he wants to leak information out purposely.

Ranting... how is Ayden williams progressing? Any updates on Deion smith?

With what we already have and Lee taking a step, if Williams makes the jump and we get Deion smith on campus this receiving group could be the deepest we have had.

So what you’re saying is the WR room is more stacked than we thought.

Deion somehow got cleared. Definitely some shady back door method was used there

Between Tre Harris, Jordan Watkins, Juice Wells, Deion Smith, Cayden Lee, and Ayden Williams I’d venture to say this is the best room we’ve ever had. Most talented was definitely AJ/DK years but they were so grossly mishandled you can’t even really even count them
