its obvious that im in the minority here, but while they've been having issues, this is the same defense that bailed us out of games in the beginning of the season and is still not as bad as we have been.

our missed tackles are a glaring problem and honestly, if that one thing alone was improved we wouldnt even be having this conversation about scheme and coaching

and in terms of overall state of where we are right now, if we win out we still go to Atlanta, and every one of those games we were going to have to win anyway. So in a way, we are no worse off standings wise than we were last week if Atlanta was the goal.

The difference is we now need LSU to drop a game somewhere (which they will). And it's all a bit moot since we are not beating Bama.

But we are favored over A&M and should be over both Arkansas and State. Win the games we are supposed to and we go 10-2 this year and get to play in a NY6 bowl, which is far above my expectations coming into this season.

This is a good point. Just seems like a TE or someone else always becomes wide open on 3rd and long. Tackling running backs has been an issue as well. If they can turn that around then we are on our way to an alright defense.

What was the result of the Troy Brown injury?

I don't care much for making end-of-season predictions. I just want to see us rebound after a deflating loss and play well in what will be a hostile environment. The Aggie D is physical and is especially tough against the pass. This is not going to be easy. I hope we can put it together and win, because 8-1 going into the bye week is much better than 7-2.

There are no games we are "supposed to win." We might not be favored against Arkansas. Who knows about the Egg Bowl either?

How some can still think this way after getting thumped Saturday is mind boggling.

Things are never as good or as bad as they seem. Yes, the loss sucked. No, it doesn't mean we are now going 7-5 this season.

I agree, we aren't going 7-5, but nothing is guaranteed. We knew the back half of the schedule would be brutal.

How is A&M's defense doing? Any chance we could trade them Partridge for Durkin now that Durkin realizes what a sinking ship that is over there?

The worst part of Saturday for me was how some of our players just quit. Dart played hard. Mingo... dropped a few that he should have caught and he did not seem to care. Hope I'm wrong. Our lines got demolished. That's really the story. We couldn't get to their QB and our o-line didn't block for shite. Had our lines played a little better, that game would have been much different.

Very good against the pass. Aggressive and talented corners. Poor against the run. Physical front seven, although they can miss some tackles and be schemed away from the play. They have depth up front.

Man, what an excellent hire that would be. He was making $700,000 as our defensive coordinator. I assume Aggie was paying him more, but I cannot find out how much.

Mike Elko was making 2.1 million in 2020. So I am guessing it is around 2.1-2.5. They pay a lot.

So I know y'all are seeing the reports of injuries and suspensions at A&M. This could really work two ways for them (and us): 1. they come out Saturday with their hair on fire and are a handful early or 2. they are shite from the jump and all we have to do is not play like we did in the fourth quarter against LSU. Either way, we really, really need to find a way to beat this A&M team that Jimbo has brought to its knees.

I’d like for us to be consistent . Let’s score and keep scoring instead of shooting our wad and doing nothing on offense for a quarter and a half while they try to play catch up

So A&M has 3 offensive linemen out and they just indefinitely suspended 3 players. We better not find a way to lose Saturday.

Yeah because that leaves them with just 104 other players.

So many fricking pussies in this thread. We got our arse beat in the second half against LSU. So fricking what. It happens. We have three winnable games left on our schedule and we get bama at home. We can still win the west. None of y’all thought we’d be 7-1 going into A&M and here we are. I’m sick of this loser mentality. We won a fricking natty this year. ANYTHING can happen. Buckle up bitches. It’s gonna be a fun ride!
