Where did Saban coach before LSU? Was it Michigan St.? If he's such a great coach, why didn't he stay there and win some NCs? Seems like he just got lucky and benefited from being at 2 schools that are perennial power houses and provide enough in state talent to win NCs.

If he was so great, how in the hell did he lose to Hugh Freeze a girl's basketball coach? Twice?

Not the change the topic but here is an anonymous quote from an SEC coach on the job opening:

quote:

”There were some really qualified coaches who wanted that job, but only with a significant commitment to security. I’m talking six or seven years of commitment. I truly believe that’s why Matt (Luke) was retained. It’s easy to move on from him once it hits rock bottom. And I don't say that lightly because I really enjoy Matt. He’s a good guy who’s in an untenable situation."

So to answer the questions on if we could have hired more qualified coaches the answer is yes.. but no roll the dice up and coming coach is worth a 6 or 7 year contract. And in MS the longest contract legally allowed is 4 years, so I don’t know if we could have offered anything they needed to come.

I don’t care what anyone says or how they try to spin it there, this is dead program walking. At least for a couple of years. They lost an elite quarterback and receiver because they didn’t want to hang around for the NCAA fallout, and they’re still dealing with that on the road in recruiting. Hey, there’s no honor among thieves in recruiting. The big thing right now is what happens with the NCAA. Once that gets resolved, you at least have a plan.

I see Dan Mullen is still butthurt

When do we play Florida again? I love the way other schools and coaches continue to lie to recruits and make Ole Miss out to be the "cheaters".

The problem with their hypocrisy is that the players know their full of BS. If nothing else, the Leo Lewis episode prove it. The NCAA hasn't gone after the other schools that were offering money to Leo. They only wanted Ole Miss. And then they had to get him to make up a story that he can't remember to repeat correctly.

I have no sympathy for any of these schools. The top tier in this conference is protected by the NCAA and any upstarts are quickly branded as cheaters.

Screw them all and feed them fish heads.

It's time to chum the fields and let the landsharks seek their vengeance.

Yes I'm very excited for Ole Miss football I was born in California I lived in Eugene Oregon I lived in Washington State then I moved to Florida I've always been a dolphins fan.

I could have been a USC fan I could have been in Oregon Ducks fan I could have been in Miami Hurricanes fan I could have been a gator but I chose to go to Ole Miss.

I didn't follow college football when I first went to college in fact I couldn't have told you the difference between Vanderbilt and Alabama in fact I asked my friend one time if Vanderbilt was as good as Alabama That's how little I knew of college football.

Throughout the years as I've gotten older I live in breathe college football it's one of the main things that keeps me going and I research it almost everyday.

I talk about it every day non-stop so much so that I've thought about even doing podcast and even a radio show based around college football something along the lines of a Colin Cowherd without the arrogance.

I've actually applied to various jobs for Ole Miss just to get closer to the football program.

it would more than likely be a dream destination for me to have any job in relation to Ole Miss football.

So yes I'm extremely excited about Ole Miss football I probably could not even fit that excitement into words.

Henry Jones, you are either all in or completely out.

Get your head right. This isn't just about winning games. It's about having these player's back, no matter what. Regardless of who the head coach may be.
frick them. They are the ones who put the ultimatum on Bjork "hire Luke or we will transfer".

Anyone that did that is a sack of shite and I don't want those assholes anywhere near Ole Miss. Luckily one of them (Shea Patterson) already left. I wish AJ, Greg Little and Damarkus Lodge would have been told GTFO when they did that.

Bjork let players who will only be around one more year make a 5 year decision for him.

Might need a bigger tube. It sounds as if someone is really rubbing him the wrong way. He may need a year or two supply in order to get him over this butt hurt.

If I were Henry I would apply for a position on the staff. Maybe this would help him "fix" all that is wrong with Ole Miss football.

Then we could all moan and bitch about how Henry is screwing up the football program.

Well, Henry does loves Ole Miss, so that at least qualifies him for the head coach position.

They would love me. I would tell them to run wild. Just don't leave any paper trails. Then when the NCAA came to talk i'd tell them they're on their own

That's how all schools operate. Only the upstart lower tier teams get a visit from the NCAA for their efforts. It doesn't help when your coach tweets out and challenges people to bring proof of cheating.

So the NCAA doesn't really find enough proof to hammer Ole Miss so Mullen and state work to fabricate stories of free merchandise and a pay off. A pay off that at least 2 other schools were involved in, state and LSU. One supposedly from a JC coach that was a family friend that just happened to have $10,000 to give Leo and the other from an LSU booster. All this was on;y found out after the NCAA finally decided to have players interviewed, why? Because the NCAA knows that all schools give out impermissible benefits. They were having issues with getting facts to back up the allegations. So they made up a new process to obtain proof.

I just hope it ends up biting the NCAA, the SEC, state and Mullen in the arse. I believe the SEC should be added to the RR lawsuit. After all they gave final approval for the interviews.

The only thing that matters is whether are not you are a top tier team in the SEC. The pecking order is real and anytime a school oversteps that order they will be disciplined.

If things were fair and equal. Cam Newton, state and Auburn would have gotten slammed. But instead, the SEC office, Mike Slive gave his own interpretation of a rule.

He basically said a player is eligible if he doesn't know his parents recieve the benefits.

Which is contrary to the NCAA by law and the NCAA gave it a nod and let it go.

There are rules but they only apply to certain schools.

This is why most of us understand, if we win the west, Ole Miss will get the death penalty and end up giving up all those wins and championships if won.

Another reason why it's important for the RR lawsuit to uncover the unjust efforts of all involved.
