I’m in Oxford and have heard directly from insiders (Rivals Chase) that Vitter is done at the end of the year and his contract as chancellor isn’t being renewed. Also that he is going to be moved to the school of engineering, apparently to teach

It would be a complete disaster if we were to keep him employed in any capacity (including as a professor). We need to wipe the slate completely clean.

It is far too generous of us to keep him on staff. Get this limpdick jellybean monger out of Lafayette County

But maybe Bjork will be next. The biggest wish of all is that the IHL lets us have someone at least halfway capable of continuing to improve the University

Can someone fill me in, comprehensively, on why everyone disliked Vitter?

I know McCready has a weirdly strong dislike of him. But it seemed to me that his presence was largely inconsequential. Is it just because his high academic pedigree, Computer Sciency nerdiness is offputting to the Good Ole Boy boosters, making him an easy target for placing the blame that would otherwise be rightly placed at the feet of certain ADs and football coaches that "bleed red and blue".

Vitter NEVER was the right fit. The guy is socially awkward. The guy is just freaking weird.

Vitter has come off as extremely weak in every single press setting he has been a part of while at the university. He has continued to foster a very liberal and politically correct culture at the university. Aside from those reasons, it is universally believed that he was the one who orchestrated the Matt Luke. He is woefully out of touch with the fan base and the state of Mississippi as a whole. He doesn’t understand or value athletics as the face of the university.

That’s a fraction of why we hate him.

I have in very good confidence he was/is very, very difficult to get to know. Almost to the point, that it didn't seem he was even trying. That's enough for me right there. I wish him well. Just not at Ole Miss.

We need someone to fire Bjork and oil the guillotine. This wasn't the guy to do that, so I'm glad he's out.

I say bjork and Luke go next. That’s wishful thinking though. I want people to come in who knows nothing about ole miss or has any connection. Start from scratch. I have a feeling though we’re stuck with Luke one more year. Maybe next guy will have balls to fire everyone.

He basically shite on our big money folks when he sided with the ncaa saying we had a toxic booster culture in that big press conference. Then he had to turn around and ask those same “toxic boosters” for money. Good luck dude. And it doesn’t help that he is a super awkward guy.

Another gem was the hostage video he made with Ross and Freeze.

Bottom line for him though is a) donations are way down b) enrollment has dropped. Either one of those is tough but both at the same time combined with just all around being difficult to connect with makes it hard for anyone to justify keeping you around.
