I’m sure most on this board are aware of this but if you haven’t joined and like Lane Kiffin and Judkins, please consider joining. It’s about to be coaching search season and we need as much money in the NIL fund as possible.

I actually pulled the trigger. Figured I couldn’t bitch if I didn’t do my part!

Same man I recently joined too. If half the people who attend home games joined at the $40 per month level we’d be set as a program.

I did this last night. Put up or shut up time
Are there any figures for what we’ve actually raised this far?

They need to flash that link on the Jumbotron at every home game. Every few minutes the Jumbotron needs a massive QR code that takes you to that sign up link.
Also need to figure out how to tie in priority points with grove collective points. Not sure if that’s legal but points should carry over if you give to grove collective.

I hadn’t even considered that idea. Well done.
The old heads may not whip the phone out and scan the code but they absolutely could run some billboard type ads on the Jumbotron

I would assume that to be a violation unless that NIL group pays for it as an advertisement.
ETA: I'd also like to see full transparency from that group. Ole Miss has a long standing history of misusing athletics funds.

Yeah, my first thought as soon as the dust settled from the SCOTUS ruling and these collectives started popping up was how much accountability do these people actually have? Who are they and what did they do to earn the right to handle this responsibility?
Basically how are we guaranteeing a huge portion of this isn’t lining pockets? Tbh by default I’m assuming that is the case until proven otherwise.

I thought the misusing of athletic funds was Khyat diverting athletic funds to the law school or some other worthless academic venture.

Yeah it was him and Boone. I still don't completely trust them not having some sort of GOB pull.

The Grove Collective is a private LLC. It is not a nonprofit. AFAIK it has no obligation to publicly disclose how it spends its money.
Being transparent about where the money is going is in TGC's interests, so hopefully they will be.
What's to stop TGC bigwigs from siphoning off funds? That would be criminal fraud.
Likewise, diverting money to the university would break the NIL state law. The university can only act as liaison between athletes and entities interested in signing them to deals. It also has some oversight powers like approving deals before they are signed.

Their website reports that 85-90% of the money donated goes to student athletes

all of that is fair and makes me feel a bit better.

If there were multiple groups doing it I’d worry about it but since it’s all in one collective group I don’t worry as much. Keith Carter and other leaders wanted it all to be in one to make sure it was easier to track and make sure rules were followed. Like any other fund it could be abused but with only one fund like this it’s much harder to hide.

What gives me a bit more confidence is that, if someone had intentions of funneling money, they wouldn't pick an industry as massively followed by the general public as college football NIL funds.
