$600k

I don’t follow recruiting very closely, but that always seemed like it was going to be the outcome. They need him a lot more than we do, and I’m sure the money they offered reflected that.

Maybe that LB committed to State.

That's what would make the most sense. Not on defense, but we should flip a 3* OT from Arkansas today too.

Other than that, it's really just seeing if we can hold off FSU for Tylon Lee who is signing Friday.

At the end of today we should be right around #14 or #15, which I think would be our best HS recruiting rank since 2016.

Considering everything that we are losing, we're gonna have to go very heavy in the portal again for immediate starters next season.

We will absolutely hit the portal hard - but interesting to see Kiffin prioritize HS recruiting more than he previously has at OM.

The portal has more volatility (ask FSU). It is a great tool, and we will need to make use of it since we’re never going to go toe to toe with the Georgias and Alabamas of the world in HS recruiting. But you don’t want to be reliant on turning over half or more of your starters every year. Building a solid foundation with high school kids and supplementing that through the portal is a more sustainable model.

Also looks like we are going to get Winston Watkins Jr. 4* WR

If it truly was 600k then shame on us for not outbidding them. The perception value along is worth that to the program.

Money may not have been the determining factor. He has a much cleaner shot at early playing time at Auburn

Really nice balanced class in general. We got our wish. Lane and company have stepped up the High School recruiting.

Agreed I wish we picked up another interior olineman but that may be more of an immediate fill. Our top 7 interior offensive linemen on the depth chart were all seniors this year.

Wouldn’t mind us portling for guys with multiple years of eligibility left to go with a renewed focus on HS recruiting.
Definitely need to hit OL hard.

I think Kiffin learned his lesson on that one. Your skill players are kind of useless if you don't have the lines to beat the opponent's lines.

Hot take but I think we actually may be better at the skill positions next year.
We lose Trey Harris who only caught 11 balls in SEC play outside of the Kentucky game. So essentially we already played an SEC schedule without him and did okay.

Watkins and Juice are replaceable in the portal. Cayden Lee was the #7 receiver in the SEC with similar yardage to Ryan Williams. Cunningham could come in and have a major impact. Hoping we finally have some Ayden Williams and Deion Smith sightings.

And the running back room couldn’t be any worse. Diggs Knight and another portal RB should be fine.

We will see. A lot can happen between now and next season, for good and bad.

Is Wells done here? I thought he had another year of eligibility.

Didn’t Williams tell coaches he was going to the portal?

I will believe Deion Smith gets on the field when I see it

nah. We need far too much immediate help on both lines right now. Auburn needs him way more than we do right now.

The main benefit I do see though is not having to potentially face him in two seasons. But that's assuming he develops and that he is still there(as well as Freeze). Neither of those are guaranteed.
