Surprised it's not a bigger spread. Hopefully we get some guys back healthy and our offense continues to show life. Defense will need to stay in Beck's face.

I hate thinking about this but if we handled business against Kentucky and LSU we would basically just need to go 1-2 the last 3 games to make the playoff

Not necessarily. In that scenario we would be 10-2 with our only notable wins against LSU and South Carolina teams that might not even be ranked. OM would also have a loss to a subpar Florida or (shudder) MSU team. That could get you in as one of the last one or two at-large teams or it might not.

As far as resumes go, compare:
-10-2 with a T10 win (UGA) a T25 loss (LSU) and a bad loss (Kentucky) vs.
-10-2 with two fringe T25 wins (LSU and SC), a T5 loss (UGA) and a bad loss (Florida or MSU)

I think No. 1 is stronger

But, yes, we would be in a much better position and could afford a loss to Georgia, provided we won the last two. What's done is done

you also need to factor in that committees are far more favorable to teams who finished the season strong as opposed to losing 2 out of the last 3.

Lightning in a bottle?

Auburn was good for 30 fricking years from 1980-2011ish.

-2.5 now. I went golfing this last Saturday and taped the game. May have to do the same for this one.

We also need South Carolina to win out so that would be a good road win. We should be cheering hard for Oklahoma and Arkansas the rest of the way also. For all that to matter we gotta win this weekend though.

Early weather forecast has the tropical system camped over us on Saturday. God hates us.

Most of their seasons in that timeframe are very pedestrian 7-9 win seasons and a whole lot of really bad seasons. They were only very good a few times. Hence, catching lightning in a bottle.

With the way, our defense has been playing that might not be a bad thing

Man. If y’all want to see a video that aged like milk, check out Episode 8 of The Season 2016

It’s just nuts that even in the midst of us shitting the bed that season, Freeze still had 100x more energy and enthusiasm there than he has ever had at Auburn.

My God though I can’t believe that episode didn’t get played on repeat after the shite that came out just 9 months later

I was a Freeze fan as much as you were but that dude is not an NIL era coach. He peaked at Ole Miss.

I was a Freeze fan too when times were good. But I would never, ever want him back in charge at OM under any circumstances.

I don’t think NIL has much to do with it. They’re still recruiting at an elite level. I just think he straight up doesn’t want to coach Auburn

Interested to see if Harris is available this game? Think we can without him but would be nice to have him. Would love to see Logan Diggs suited up as well. How are we looking on Oline as far as injuries?

It matters when those elite freshmen transfer out. It also matters when you can't get a QB because you refuse to pay.

Harris being out would suck. How bad was his injury or we don’t know / Lane cryptic?

Do yall think this is another repeat of last year in Athens or do we show up and play well? I’ll be in town for the game, curious about the potential for rain.

I’m expecting we keep it close but ultimately UGA pulls away with halfway through the 4th. Something like 31-21 UGA

It all depends on which Ole Miss shows up. If it's last week's team, Ole Miss wins. Georgia isn't 2023 Georgia. They are prone to a lot of mistakes.
