Bowl games are a joke now days. Wouldn’t be surprised if they discontinue them.

Nah there’s still a lot of money to be made having some of them. I do think you’ll start seeing a cut back in them. So much so that you’ll need to win 7 games to be bowl eligible

Bowl games are for the players, and most of them participate. But yeah, they don’t matter much outside of that. But that’s a good enough reason to keep having them. Also, the sponsorships.
