Seems that we can pay a lot of money though so that at least artificially inflates whatever true ranking is?

I’d barely put us in the top 20 considering who we have to play every season. We absolutely pay way above our level.
But yes…..there better be a decent buyout on Kiffins end.

Kam Franklin's recruitment has 0% to do with Kiffin's involvement or relationships with HS coaches. He's gonna commit to Auburn because they're giving him a lot of money up front to do so. Florida isn't giving Waller money up front but they're making big promises for when he arrives. We all saw what happened with Jaden Rashada there.

I would hope we have a big buyout clause if he decides to jump. News flash: Ole Miss is not a top five coaching destination for the coaching community

Him not committing totally comes with the territory I guess but the first time he bitches about fans and loyalty I hope he gets lit up

We told Kam Franklin we would match any offer they give him and I know that for a fact. I think we have a head coach that’s not fully committed which hurts. Once again there is a full court press to keep kids away from us but I hate that our staff is using that as an excuse to roll over and lay down. We’re also giving them all the ammunition they need with lane telling people he’s “probably not” going anywhere. Those two words in quotation basically gave state the nuclear codes

More excellent intel for certain. However, how in the world would we actually verify an Auburn offer so that we can match it? Just take Franklin’s word for it, notary public, Zoom meeting? It’s all just comical coming from a fan who watched his program nuked because a player slept on a coach’s couch and got his mothers electric bill paid. Granted he was too stupid to just keep his mouth shut on draft night. But i digress. What a monster we’ve created.

Where are you getting this from? I simply don't believe he is telling people that.

I can definitely see him saying it.
“I’m probably not going anywhere, but any coach who tells you they will 100% be at the same school 5 years from now is a liar” could definitely see him saying something like that just based on how painfully honest he is about certain topics.

He told Austin Simmons parents this. I promise it’s true. It got back to our staff and pissed some people off.

Actually coaches of different programs are fairly open about discussing this type of information with each other. Especially assistants who have ties with other people in other programs. Our staff knows all the NIL stuff of other programs and what recruits we want are getting offered. Obviously there is a certain number we would have to walk away it but that number isn’t in the picture for auburn either so it doesn’t have anything to do with money. NIL is not our issue despite what some reporters may say. Hell we gave sanders 300k to come ride the bench.

I understand. Again, it's just all so crazy. You do sound like you know what you are talking about so we will see. I certainly hope we get him, then we can "re-get" him every year with more money I suppose if he were to indeed be all he's cracked to be. The NCAA or somebody better figure out a way to regulate this, so we can all go back to cheating under the table like the good ol' days.

We have enough money where we will never have to worry about our players getting poached which is more than I can say for Mississippi State (I.e. Rara) so that is good for us. Any elite player they have will probably hit the portal to try to get a payday from a Bama/GA/elite out of conference blue blood. We just have to get recruiting fixed because the portal is not a sustainable model for us and Lane knows it but a lot of people suspect he is not worried about it because he doesn’t think he’ll be around long enough to worry about long term problems

I'm sure we would. We are however not offering money up front for a commitment. Auburn is offering a solid amount and are most likely going to get the commitment. Lane isn't the difference maker for Franklin.

I was really talking about the lane thing in a broader scheme of things. Yes they’re giving Kam up front money to commit which is why there’s all this buzz of people saying it’s not really over yet even if he commits

Our On3 guys the last 48 hours have started giving a lot of hope that Franklin picks us...
So given our insiders track record, Franklin to Auburn confirmed.

FWIW there’s a poster on there that’s a lot more reliable than Berry and Neal saying it’s done

I understand the money aspect because at that age, I would definitely take the money. It's life changing money. But the drama around some of these kids like Franklin not picking a place and dragging their feet into the season, well, it just screams prima donna to me.
Posted on 8/18/23 at 12:52 am to Landmass
It’s smarter for them money wise to wait and make it a big deal. Boosts their social media, gains more views, followers, etc which in turn makes them more money with NIL. It used to piss me off but I mean I can’t blame the kids now. $$$ is about how many followers you have

There are thousands of dollars in the balance. I would be doing the same.
If I had Hugh freeze and lane Kiffin fighting over me and using me to try prove who is better I would be on the fence too. He’s taking both school NIL funds to the cleaners
