Still a long way to signing day and I do trust Kiffin and Golding to get the guys they want / fit what they want to do.

You said on the recruiting board we had no organized NIL fund. You said it here too. Both were lies. I understand the melt tho. It was me the past 10 years

Well you have lost a lot of good players in years past due to NIL. Wondering how many of these kids sign with y’all in Dec or Feb. Oh, please keep JJ. He reminds me of MJ Daniels 2.0

Recruiting has become a weird and fickle bitch.

And you can’t tell me how much NIL State has to work with. Because we both know it’s a joke compared to the Grove Collective.
Makes me feel pretty confident state pays for commitments up front lmao.
Makes me feel even more confident we can flip whoever we want.

might depend more on how our offenses perform but there’s always a flip or two, both ways.

This isn't the game I grew up with.
I was depressed by the game-altering changes at first, but now I've accepted them.
I still enjoy watching the games and the scene and culture around them though.

I am getting a kick out of at least one thing with all this. You’d think State was crushing us in recruiting and yet we are still ranked ahead of them and have a higher overall player rating. As close as possible but just saying. This is our board after all.

I think each team's classes will look different than they do now with early signing day still six months away.

And 1/2 of each class will transfer before playing any meaningful snaps anyways

3* athlete / safety Shamaar Darden committed. From tupelo. We appear to be his only power 5 offer.
Played WR and Safety in high school.

Now granted no one ever puts film out that doesn’t make them look good. But the 5 DBs we picked up are all long, fast and willing/able tacklers.

Yeah Golden seems to be going after tall and physical secondary players. All are at least 6 feet tall and, at least on tape, know how to tackle.
It may take a couple years to really see dividends, but I expect Golden to make our defense more physical than years past.

We have been poor tacklers every season since 2016 (with the exception of 2021).
For many of those seasons, our defensive line has simply been blown off the ball, particularly in the second half of games and in the back half of the season (see Arkansas 2022 for an example). By the time our players make contact with the other team's backs, they're 8 yards downfield and running with a head full of steam.
I'm not expecting the 85 Bears to run out there. But it would be nice if our line could provide a push up front and the front seven tackle the guy in front of them.

This. You couldn't pay me to give a shite about recruiting these days, though.
