Oh yeah. We know it’s coming. Getting called out as non committed by a guy making $900,000 a month. So tone deaf . But LK is such a narcissist that it either doesn’t register or he doesn’t give a shite

He became a student of Saban. This is what Saban continuously does.
Seems like a loaded in state class and we are missing on valuable pieces. Pendulum swings both ways though and maybe we can sway some of these instate guys before signing day.

I wouldn't get too attached to anyone currently committed to us nor would I be worried about guys we lose to other schools. Their NIL will change a good bit based on their senior seasons. Maybe that means a player currently committed gets more money elsewhere and can also mean we pony up more for players committed elsewhere. A commitment to any school right now is nothing but leverage for the players to negotiate better deals. Until signing day no point in getting excited or worried about it.

Yeah couldn’t have said it better myself. I just have to remind myself periodically this is not 1995 anymore.

Recruiting definitely needs an overhaul from the length of the recruiting period to NIL to the portal.
It’s the minor leagues now.
No excuse for not having contracts etc. that a player is locked into like the NFL.
A NFL rookie who had a good season doesn’t get to become a free agent and shop around for better contracts in the offseason.
And commitments or signees should be similar to draft picks. Once you commit or sign with a school and sign an NIL deal you can’t be released from that contract.
Proposal:
1) Formal signing period like the NFL
and players can’t commit before this period however once you’ve committed and signed -it’s over.
2) “Rookie contracts” that lock a player into the school he signed with for the first 2 years. Players/Teams can reevaluate after that. Can break your contract if the HC is fired.
3) The Portal would be for players who have finished their rookie contracts and would like to shop around. Or players who have completed their second contract (which could be one year).
Not sure how feasible this is or if it will ever be implemented but I think it would eliminate a lot of what we currently hate about college football.

To get to a point like that though, you basically have to get to a point where the players can collectively bargain

Eliminate the NCAA and create a super league that governs itself

This is what the second or third guy from N.O. or River Parishes? Hope we keep digging in to the area. So much talent.

Sounds like 4* OT Jimothy Lewis to State. Was long considers a Ole Miss lean.

Well that’s a little surprising for sure.

State be done located some funds in the last few days it would appear. Especially where Lewis is concerned if we are to believe at all he was OM for like two years now, never a mention of State by anybody and then low and behold. Loyalty is completely nonexistent boys. We owe it to ourselves to face that fact.

State has no organized NIL group like the grove collective that I’m aware of. And we raised 15 Million. I’d be surprised if state had 1/3 of that.
Makes no sense.
Wonder if state pays up front for commitments.

So many “business decisions”
I don’t know why the sites even have recruiting coverage . I certainly wouldn’t pay for it . They can be right for the whole process and the kid flips last minute and all the coverage was completely pointless
Or like DJ said on a pod with Ben Garrett, he crystal balled a kid to ole
Miss even though he knew he was going to state .
What is the point if you’re gonna do that ?

Especially with a mostly new coaching staff and probably the lowest NIL funding in the SEC outside of Vanderbilt. How is State getting all of these 4 stars recently?
