Miller would have had to move inside for immediate playing time. The progression of Williams and Pettus this year kind of ended the need for a tackle starter.

We need some depth pieces though.

I hate losing anyone to Fauburn.

Bummer… wish he would’ve stayed a diamond and blew up once he got here

Oh well.. time to crank up the NIL machine money tree and go get someone else

Jimbo tossed him a big bag. Hope he’s happy with that because Jimbo isn’t getting him to the NFL. It will be his next school.

ETA: not worried about the QB spot because Kiffin will be able to get a good one out of the portal every year. Heck Reed might be in the portal by next season after he sees the grass isn’t greener or Jimbo gets canned.

Been a rough couple days. But the days of a proven backup QB are done for the most part.

Did anyone really think Marcel Reed was going to be the starting qb at ole miss? We have Dart for 1-2 more years and then hopefully Walker white. I’m not saying this is why he decommitted but he knows we kept recruiting Rashada even after he committed and we’re all in on White for next years class. This and the bag I’m sure he got from A&M had an impact

Disappointing to lose him, but not surprising. We are all in on White after Dart even before this.

I am not overly concerned about loosing Reed to A&M. Think Jimbo wanted to stick it to Lane and paid a Kings ransom to do it. Such is life in the new NIL world. However, what I am concerned about is noise that the Auburn fiasco has the White family a little perturbed…..Lane needs to nip this type of shite in the bud quickly or it will continue to impact recruiting.

Yeah if the flirting becomes an annual thing we will never progress beyond where we are. Yeah it could be much worse. We all know that, but getting to that next level is gonna require some perceived stability I would think.

I’m not saying this because I’m a Freeze fanboy but because it’s the truth. Anyone that thinks his past is going to have a negative impact on his recruiting is delusional. He is well connected throughout Mississippi and he is going to be a major pain in ours and State’s asses when it comes to recruiting the best talent here.

Auburn started pulling a highly ranked players every now and then from the Magnolia State about 20 years ago. It's continued to the present day.

Auburn, Bama, and UT taking who they wanted from Mississippi was a hallmark of the Cutcliffe regime. I think the coaches after him did a pretty good job of closing the border and restoring state pride.

If there was one thing Orgeron did well, it was getting our recruiting in order.

We are currently sitting with 12 commitments for this cycle. That's the fewest of any team in the 247 Top 60. Either we are not connecting with some high schoolers or are intentionally banking on the transfer market again. Which I'd be fine with, I suppose, had we not shite the place up against Arkansas and State making the heavy transfer approach seem a bit tainted this year. Time gonna tell.

Yeah this is the opposite extreme from the Luke years. Quality over quantity and fill the gaps in the portal. It’s a new era of recruiting for sure.

What Kiffin is doing is working for us at the moment. If he stays focused the whole season next year and actually goes all in the whole season I think we can close stronger with the high school kids. Until then there will always be the “Kiffin is a flight risk” recruiting tactic against us. The longer he stays the easier it will be to push back on it.

Surely there is an astronomical buyout that we can quote to recruits. It should be 54M right?
