I thought the tie breakers were more involved than that.

that is possible. I just always heard a lot of rumors about how he interviewed for Miami and they’re bored to trustees thought he was an idiot

I'm about 90% sure that he pretty much had that job in the bag and fricked it up. That was back when I knew someone who was in that world, and he said what was supposed to be really just a perfunctory interview ended up making Miami completely break the whole thing off.

ETA - To put into English.

The conference title means next to nothing nowadays to me. I honestly cannot tell you who won it last year without Googling it.

If the rumors about Kiffin/Sexton meeting with Florida on zoom in the last week are true, he can get fricked pulling that during the season

The second part of those names would’ve happened. Jimmy would meet with a ham sandwich if he thought it would make him a penny. Doesn’t mean anything. I’d be shocked if Lane was on there.

Surely if that was true a reporter would ask him that question. Lane, is it true you had a call with University of Florida officials and/or AD the week you play them to potentially decide your current employer and players play against that school for a playoff spot? Do you expect your players to be focused on the task at hand if you are not? All questions that should be asked if there is any truth to that rumor

I would be shocked if that was true at all. Lots of internet folks want to pretend they know more than they actually do.

ETA: Pretty sure if a school wanted to speak to another school's existing coach, it requires them to get permission to do so. No way would Keith give the okay for that right now.

I would much rather play Texas Tech than Oregon or even Notre Dame at this point. Meeting Texas and Arch in the first round would be fine. Oregon has a tough one. Hope they don't pass us in the next few weeks. Out of the four bye teams, meeting IU or Bama in the second round would be the most favorable as well. I feel like they are both living on borrowed time.

The Neal’s of the world won’t dare risk that Sexton PR pipeline getting damaged.

Yep the longer we can avoid A&M and Ohio State in the playoffs the better. I feel like everyone else is getable on the right day

Those 2 are both gettable. When our offense is clicking, not many can play that extended of a shootout

Neither the Aggies or Ohio state have played offenses where they had to score 35+ except for maybe Arkansas .

Aggies schedule has been super soft . Is their defense really THAT good ? They gave up 42 to the hogs and everyone else has been bad on offense . They aren’t some big bad video game level boss

They’ve gotten so much respect for an easy schedule

As for the Florida game, I'm just thinking that we out match and out scheme them. We should take the Kentucky game plan and mirror it as much as we can while still relying on our own strengths.

Win the toss
Go score a TD to set the tone
Get a stop.
Go score again and never let them breathe

They will fold as long as we don’t screw around and keep them in it like going for 4th and 8 on our 12 yard line or something stupid

Don't be ridiculous. We have the hottest young mind in all of college sports running the show. A man who could legitimately soon be offered a $150 million contract.

He would never do anything like that.

Now, a 4th and 1 from our own 25 up two scores that ends up losing 8 yards on a bad direct snap to our running back? Yeah, that's way more understandable.
