I was furious with KC after reading his statement but after taking some time, I remembered that he has done an incredible job since day 1 as athletic director at the university of Mississippi. The more I think about it, the more I realize that KC probably knows Lane about as well as anyone outside of his family. They have worked together for 6 years and by all accounts have a great relationship. It's not crazy to think they had a sincere conversation today and Lane told him he is truly torn at the moment and can't make a decision yet. We can get mad about it, but if you're Keith what do you do? In my opinion, lane is just stalling to get things finalized with Florida or lsu and he'd rather announce he's leaving after winning the egg bowl and on a dead weekend in Oxford. But Keith is the one talking to him and for all the "insiders" sharing what they've heard on Twitter or the rant, none of them have spoken with kiffin. I feel bad for Keith since I do think lane is going to hang him out to dry with the boosters and fans, but maybe Keith has more optimism than the rest of us and this is his call.

If Monte were here he'd be the one to point out to Lane having an AD you truly trust to have your back is hard to find, hopefully someone can remind him of that.

Let a motherfricker vent, man. Good grief. We have to let off some steam too. It's not as if the fans have felt appreciated this year. We are also afraid this man is going to frick up our playoffs. So, yeah, let us say our piece in here.

If he stayed, we would accept the wins. But the adoration of Kiffin is GONE.

It’s easy to see on the outside but the vibe around Ole Miss is elite. Went a few times before college (2010) and vividly made it my go to school, family agreed that it the campus and atmosphere was elite.

While I haven’t been since 2017 (moved to Oregon) it’s obvious Ole Miss bigger than ever. It’s easier for me to say but even if Lane moves on he elevated Ole Miss and the vibes are higher than ever.

I hope that psychopath is rocking the p n g within a week but just wanted to point out Ole Miss as a whole is top tier right now, regardless of what lane decides. I just hope he elevates the university like LSU fans have been tortured to see Alabama since Saban arrived.

Y’all should hit me up if you’re ever in the PNW

Sorry bro I’m not into troons. Jk Oregon seems awesome outside of Portland. I drove down the coast once from Astoria to Newport then cut over to Corvallis and ended up in Eugene for a football game day. Gorgeous girls everywhere.

The vibes are really high here. Changed my life, sports an afterthought minus LSU uniting our family

That’s a beautiful stretch. I am hopeful the baws from Corvallis find a miracle. Talk about a great school, town, and campus that got robbed.

Just a beautiful part of the country. I have the fondest memories of being there for the short time I was.

What the frick is this bullshite, really.....

10-1, heading into our main rivalry week with a chance to lock up a home playoff game, third straight 10+ win season, fully reinvented this guys head coaching career while building a dope arse brand together with a fan base that has answered the bell for this dude with no intentions of letting up. We embrace the trolling. We embrace the autism.

and this smooth brain teletubby arse motherfricker is going to walk out on his program, which is already at the pinnacle of college football, so he can go build another team to reach the spot he is already at.

He clearly doesn't care about owning a program he built, he just wants it to be as easy as possible. This is how he fricks up his career, again. He aint Saban, Meyer or Carroll

but, alas, the teletubby always skips through the fields looking for greener pastures. Not for any reason, because it always just ends up playing a weird fricking educational video from its stomach TV, then has some weird moment of post nu clarity and prances across the fields again.

He named his dog Juice

What the frick is juice?

TLDR He should stay or some shite

Won’t find a more ardent fan of the beavers than myself on the board. Very sad what happened to a great fanbase.

But yeah, the willamette valley is dreamy. Never hesitated to laugh at any fan that thinks Dan Lanning is leaving. That guy has it made here, no pressure and amazing setting.

This is his moment to leave a good situation (ole miss / tennessee) to run off for a perceived bigger program (lsu / usc) where he will be fired in a couple of years

I just need to understand why we're prolonging the inevitable.

What exactly is going to be accomplished or change between now and next Saturday? Dude's out, right? So why are we going through this exercise?

What did I miss or is there a bonus he misses out on if he doesn't finish the regular season? That's gotta be it.

He most likely told Keith he hasn't made his decision but will have it made after the egg bowl

He knows he's leaving but stringing us along so he can finish the season

It's the only explanation. Lane said he was undecided and KC feel like he had enough there to just suspend him / what happens in the 1% where Lane really is undecided and we just pushed him out.

KC's biggest mistake was releasing that statement. Should have just kept quiet for another week.

I agree with all that you say here EXCEPT the adoration part. I’ve never had that for the dude. Winning is addictive and that’s all that he’s ever appealed to me with. I honestly woke up this morning with a sense of relief.

Well he is going to need to stay on everyone's good side as best as possible for Knox.

Going to suck if his crap distracts two teams.

I guess because I do this type of work for a living I view this entirely different than most folks.

Feeling better about Keith Carter at least. Putting out there in the media that we offered $13 mil in salary and $25 mil in NIL. Important messaging for boosters, players, recruits, and the next coach that this was not a case of Ole Miss being outbid and that we are absolutely in the same weight class as maybe everyone except OSU, OU, and UGA

Maybe that’s why he felt like he had to put out a statement? So he had cover to leak other details of the process? Idk, but regardless I think Keith and Walker are in a good spot to help us bounce back.
