The Oklahoma qb and wr seem to be a package deal. There is some noise about the possibility of both transferring to Ole Miss. In the right system and with the right coaching Caleb seems to be a future Heisman finalist. His ceiling is the sky. How realistic do you guys think this scenario is?

I've heard from different people that we can match Charlie Batch's $1mill offer.

I’m not getting my hopes up with this .

And even if he commits, some other school else will just come in and offer even more money probably

Just wait until players refuse to play in a game unless the check clears each week.

It's probably straight up horseshite but supposedly the asking price is $2.25 million and we can pay it

Without having any inside information, USC or Clemson seem to make the most sense

I was thinking USC along as well, but it hasn't been automatic. That would lead one to think that maybe there is some "seeing what's out there" going on to some degree. i believe that we are involved and have a realistic chance. Not favorites by any means but possible.

A monster has been created with all this NIL shite and until there is some sort of cap put on it (and who knows how that would be policed, but I digress) this all will become a slow motion disaster with issues arising nobody can foresee. We just think these agents have been holding schools hostage. Just wait until the players do.

NIL will be around in its current form for about 5 years. After that, there will be some sort of rule change put in place when the blue bloods start missing out on all the top talent. You’ll see schools like A&M scoop up a shite ton of talent and that will piss enough of the traditional powers off to make a change.

We need to make a charity infomercial about paying cruits.

“your small gift of $25 dollars a month you too can help 5* QB Caleb Williams and others slay sorority row and SEC defenses”

There's about a 0% chance that Caleb Williams comes to Ole Miss

Ole Miss only needs like 250 boosters to donate an average of $100,000 per year to have a recruiting budget of $25M.

It’s not unfeasible for Ole Miss to compete for guys we really want.

22,000 students, we increase tuition $500, we have $22,000,000 yearly for NIL

Wouldn’t that equal 2,200,000?

Still enough for a decent QB lol

it would be $11,000,000 if you did a $500 increase for the yearly tuition or $22,000,000 if it was increased $500 per semester.

I don't think all the liberal academics who hate football would go for it though

Short term thinking. You need 10 boosters to put up 10 million once. 100 M Permanent fund. Football team can use half of the growth in that year, rest is reinvested.

Covers ~4M of recruiting costs a year, growing every year. That is a good head start.

Shame... We could use some QBs and WRs.
