Everyone glossing over the LSU night game and ignoring the fact that the egg bowl is a morning kickoff.
When is the last time that MSU has even won an SEC game? Until they are even mediocre, this game is scraping the bottom of the barrel for TV time.

Not creating a new thread for this so just throwing it in a Kiffin one, but interesting comments from the LSU AD given Kiffin has been so pissed off about OM not letting him coach in the playoffs:
Interesting that the LSU AD has now publicly said that Kiffin has no reason to be pissed off at OM.
quote:
Lane Kiffin hasn’t gotten over Ole Miss not allowing him to coach the Rebels in the College Football Playoff.
Ole Miss and athletics director Keith Carter made it clear early on no such scenario existed. Verge Ausberry, Kiffin’s new athletics director at LSU, told USA Today he would have made the exact same call.
quote:
“I’d probably be like, ‘Nah, we ain’t doing that. No,’” Ausberry told USA TODAY Sports. “But that hand wasn’t dealt. If I’m Ole Miss, I probably would’ve made the same decision. I know LSU would’ve made the same decision. I don’t blame anybody.”

It is absolutely ridiculous for Lane to think he could take the head job at our biggest rival and still be our head coach.
Just mentally insane.
Just mentally insane.

100% agree. But it's also 100% why he is acting out and refusing to move on.

Kiffin can shove it up his arse for all I care. I just want to move on from him and the a-hole keeps picking a fight. frick that guy.
The funniest thing has been watching the vast majority of national media blast him every time he attacks us.
He really has given us some damn good press, to be honest.

I’m looking forward to this game. I was thinking of going to the UF @ Auburn game but realized it will be at the same time as your game and no way I’m missing this to watch the gaytors lose to Alex Golesh for the second year straight

I see Florida making a big jump this season. I don't see the same thing for Auburn.

Florida had top 5 SEC talent - their coaching just sucked.
Auburn is starting with worse talent and they brought in a QB who can't throw to save his life. I don't see Auburn going better than 6-6 next year. Florida going 9-3 wouldn't particularly surprise me.

But I think Golesh was the guy to hire from the G5 if going that route and think he’ll kill it at auburn

quote:in certain position groups were pretty loaded (WR and DL in particular) but a lot of the rankings were overhype, particularly dj Lagway, and our OL was garbage and is still in a bad way. QB situation is still dicey as Philo looks terrible and Trammel Jones is inexperienced. I think 5-7/6-6 will be our record this year which is an improvement from last year.

I am pretty sure he was trying to lose to us at Vaught-Hemingway last Nov. I know he tends to go for it a lot but some of those decisions he made against us were just head scratchers even by his standards

What a monster weekend
With gameday too in town ( most likely… we all know they can’t possibly turn down those ratings) .
That’s gonna feel like a playoff weekend in town
Hope you renters are loading up and profiting

That's the thing with Lane that fans of other teams really don't get - you'll see some boneheaded decisions being made that make you 100% sure he's trying to throw the game. And then you see the team just go through the motions and squeak out a 3 point win at home against a horrible Washington State team.
I have little doubt he was trying to give away the Florida game (his family jumped on a jet the next day and very publicly toured Gainesville) and followed that up by his family visiting Baton Rouge. The experiment of him in red stick is going to be interesting - he's as likely to win a NC as he is to having to get narcan'd in a bar bathroom somewhere. The biggest thing with him is to make certain he is surrounded by staff that can reel him in and try to keep his attention and focus on winning. I think after next season, CW Jr will end up with a HC gig somewhere and that'll cause a big drop in offensive performance.
The 2024 season still pisses me off. That team should have been a lock for the playoffs - but Lane royally f'd that up.

To me this is worse. We knew exactly what was on the line at this point in the season and still fricked it up.
