Now think...do you remember the huge highway that France and England built under the English Channel a few years ago and the monster drill that was used to bore a full highway?

Of course. Everybody saw Ocean's Thirteen.

I'm also curious what good a drill would do in a place like Florida. You have a groundwater table that is under ten feet in most of the state. Plus, is on top of a limestone aquifer.

Or do they just stop at the edge, and tap into the water supply?

Not to mention the thousands of dump trucks worth of material that would have to be removed and deposited somewhere every day.

Nuclear drill bores produce no excess material. They melt the rock at over 2,000 degrees F which causes the tunnel walls to turn into obsidian (or an obsidian like substance) while also forcing the equivalent of magma into cracks which almost immediately cools and reinforces the walls.

Several US patents for nuclear drilling bores exist all the way back to the 1970s.

This... I'm on top of a ridge running through the middle of the state... a whopping 90 ft above sea level, still pulling water less than 15 feet to out of the ground.

OK I just realized you were a troll. At first, I just thought you were a tinfoil mouth breather who couldn't handle the fact that the world just isn't as interesting as you want it to be.

But now I realize you're just being funny.

I thought I was responding to the OP. If I had looked to see it was Killz, I wouldn't have bothered.

Who said the tunnel system is in Florida? I didn't, all the reports don't, they all say it's mostly west Texas to D.C. with several shorter branches for emergency backup routes.
