His handler’s father is a preacher. He friended me on Facebook when somebody put me on their prayer list after I was hurt in a car wreck. I appreciated the prayers, but I never heard from him directly so I don’t know what the motive there was. He just seems like a weird guy. I’ve heard around that he believes everybody not a Baptist is going to Hell.

I ended up muting or blocking him at some point because I’m not a member of his church and I got tired of the my son works for Tebow and I go to Israel every six months content.

Also, I’ve never seen a guy abandon the pulpit to go compete in fishing tournaments or go watch the Braves play as fast as that guy does.

ETA: As far as Tebow goes, I don’t know. He seems more like a useful idiot than the actual problem. It’s hard to discern which though, because he’s been a PR robot for two decades now.

Then on NBC, you had Bestwick, another legend in Benny Parsons who was a little aloof (but not bad), and then Dallenbach who while not very successful as a driver, was a solid commentator.

Now I just feel like I’m talked to like they’re trying to sell me on a new sport, but it’s actually been around 75 years.

Nice. Just didn’t want to spoil anything. Your daily check ins have given me a couple laughs as I’ve been a couple episodes ahead of you for a few days.

Last two episodes are great. Multiple solid twists in the finale.

Very possible they’re not students, but college/post grad age people.

Oxford is full of early-mid 20’s people from Batesville, Tupelo, New Albany, Memphis burbs, etc. that have never stepped foot in a classroom at Ole Miss. A solid portion of them are working pretty good paying blue collar jobs and are the types that hang out and do drugs with the off campus living students.

Yep, and Dupree was as big and talented as any of them. My dad was in high school during that era, and he’s like some kind of mythical creature to that whole generation. Truly is one of the biggest what if’s in the history of football.

Fields Italian is great. It’s a bar in the front that opens up to the street, then you walk back into the restaurant. Last thing I had there was the Lobster Mac & Cheese. Elite.

A handful of good bars on that strip and a good little shopping district as well. Really perfect for what you’re looking for. The downtown is small enough that it’s easy to do what you want.

Tato-Nut has good donuts if you’re getting up and getting out of town.

The guy is kind of a fraud. He wears those dumb arse hats. Name drops restaurants all the time like he’s a ball knower, but they’re usually fairly mid (Abe’s BBQ, Ajax). Wrought with white guilt. Et cetera.

He writes for writers that don’t know or understand anything about the South.

Loved the parts where he said the first town on 61 heading south out of Baton Rouge is St Francisville and not many people know that Vicksburg and Gettysburg were going on simultaneously.
