The Beatles were The Best. Don’t believe me? Take one of their albums and really listen to it. The way they wrote the music and constructed the lyrics was unbelievable.

Always felt they were overrated.

Not that they were not a great band but rather the “worship” of them seemed forced.

The clean cut Beatles that first broke the scene was more like a modern day boy band. Once they discovered LSD they transformed in to the band that so many of us like.

Not true, we owned both sides of the wall, just opposite sides of the family.

And then my Norman ancestors took both sides of the wall after many years of fighting to provide for a very happy ending.

Wut?

Normans never conquered the Scots

Sure they had some dustups at the borders but Scotland proper enjoyed peace.

King David had Scottish blood as his sister was Queen of Scotland. While he did spend time with the Normans he was not conquered by them.

Normans conquered England in 1066. Then later the English took over Scotland if you believe that King William of Scotland recognizing King Henry II of England as his feudal Lord was surrendering
Doesn't really matter though, the two kept fight for another 400 years or something before uniting to form Great Britain, because neither side wanted to give up

I haven't seen anyone post the Steve Miller Band yet. They cranked out some good music. So did the Marshall Tucker Band.

Also, where do bands like Bob Seger, Simon and Garfunkel, Rush, etc. rank?

The Beatles.

I hate the Beatles personally but every band you love credits them as their main influence. That says it all.

My honorable mentions..

Queen

Led

Rush

Whoever said Nickleback..that’s not even funny. That’s like saying Creed is amongst the best of all time.

Zep would get my vote.

If greatest is determined by sales, longevity, cultural impact and number of hits I'll throw a name into the hat - The Beach Boys.
