I am not sure if this applies to the spirit of the OP but I cannot stand when people put an apostrophe "s" to indicate plural.

Example:
Someone types, "1's and 2's," which is possessive. The correct form should be, "1s and 2s."

I had a girlfriend years ago (college grad and career in corporate management) that would always say windshield instead of wind chill factor. Drove me nuts, but I didn't have the heart to correct her.

Incorrect use of I. “Between you and I, they sound unintelligent.”

Incorrect use of who/whom. “For who the bell tolls.”

Use of impact because someone doesn’t know how to use effect/affect.

“All of the sudden,” instead of the correct, “All of a sudden.”

It's not misused anymore since they changed the definition. Now it's technically still right if you're using it describe something that is not literal.

They literally changed the definition of literally because people weren't using the word for the literal meaning?

Why do people say “all of a sudden” instead of the much shorter “suddenly”

I have a friend who pronounces "supposedly" as "supposively" and it makes me want to jump out of a third-story window each time.

The funny thing is...irregardless is a proper word, people are just using it incorrectly.

quote:

The point of the "irregardless" is to shut down conversation. So "irregardless" is a word. It has a specific use, in particular dialects. That said, it's not part of standard English and so — especially if you're writing or if you're speaking in formal places — you want to use "regardless" instead. Because if you use "irregardless," people will think you're uneducated.

Irregardless is a real word

No, it’s a blend of two words into a slang term.
