Another thing I remember growing up. Where have all the drug commercials gone? Remember the egg and this is your brain? Also bring back Mcgruff the crime dog. If kids don’t learn early just like discipline they could get off on the wrong track early or eventually.

Coke and weed used to flow into Biloxi like the tide. They used to have seaweed parties all the time in high school, you just built a bonfire and threw it on. I worked as a bus boy at a major Coke bar in 80s. It was owned by the Thorntons. I think the restaurant was called the factory and the bar behind it where the coat came in and was called the pier it was in the location around where the grand casino eventually was located.

I had to quit because of a beef over a “fishing boat” aka drug runner broke out between some of my dad’s buddies. One was a made man with Marcello and the other was a made man out of Chicago and it was threatening to become a war. My dad didn’t want me to get caught up in any cross fire, or suspected to be a spy or anything. He said JJ Cale wrote the song Cocaine in the back room of the pier while a pound of coke was poured out into a table to be enjoyed. I assume he was there.

I never did any drugs until I got to Ole Miss, although I was labeled a druggie coast rat like everyone else.

Prayers to all the families that lost a child, there is nothing worse. This shite is terrifying. If the Chinese are behind this…

Terrible. Imagine being the parent getting that call.

It still exists in most places I think, but the issue is the dishonest or untrustworthy dealers who cut their drugs with deadly bullshite don’t operate with regular customers they know. They go to tourist areas with big party scenes or college towns and insert themselves into the scene and find buyers there. No phone records or trail to trace them back and they don’t care if it kills the person because they won’t be a repeat customer anyways
