It's moments like this when I'm glad I went to school where I did, where even alcohol wasn't permitted on campus.

Lots of Ole Miss smugglers in those days. It’s a virtual who’s who, doctors, lawyers, judges, accountants etc.
You just got together some guys bought a long range boat for 50k, formed a shell holding company and hired a captain and agreed on rate of return. 100k-250 a month depending on number of runs. You never had to touch anything or know anything. The sheriff etc were all in on it.
They didn’t even really know coke was bad for you then, no real cartels, it was viewed as a victimless crime and easy money back then.

There is a ton of misinformation going around about this. Lafayette County Metro Narcotics has put out a statement about 2 deaths. The only connection they had found at the time was both had packaged Kratom sold from a retail store.

Whoever downvoted your comment needs to rethink their life and gain some empathy. It's alarming that it has to be used 800 times but at the same time, it's a great initiative they took to put a free Narcan vending machine there.

Wait, why does it look like a proclaimed "narcotics" division is trying to claim kratom leaf caused 2 overdose deaths? Everyone I'm hearing from said coke laced with cychlorphine and that there's already an arrest. You mean there were no other precursors, narcotics, or paraphernalia - only kratom vitamins?
Because if it was regular old kratom leaf capsule/powder then it's bullshite and that "narcotics" division has alternate agendas on top of what is already a tragedy. If it was bought from a gas station store already laced then it's the end for people who use it for legitimate medical purposes in Mississippi and that's a shame.

The LSU fan that so many people saw bloodied and on the floor of the second floor bathroom at the game and was rumored to have been jumped or in a fight with Ole Miss fans was not bullshite but actually drugs too.
He apparently collapsed and hit his head hard, which busted like a watermelon. He has no recollection of shite after accepting a beer from a fellow fan next to him, per his cousin and father. (Which may or may not be the source)
His tox screen from the Hospital was clean except for a large quantity of benzodiazepine, per his dad. That’s a damn date rape drug right? Assume someone put it in wrong bottle or something.

All they said was that was the only known connection between the two deaths. They went on to say they can't attribute the deaths to any substance right now

Coke and weed used to flow into Biloxi like the tide. They used to have seaweed parties all the time in high school, you just built a bonfire and threw it on. I worked as a bus boy at a major Coke bar in 80s. It was owned by the Thorntons. I think the restaurant was called the factory and the bar behind it where the coat came in and was called the pier it was in the location around where the grand casino eventually was located.
I had to quit because of a beef over a “fishing boat” aka drug runner broke out between some of my dad’s buddies. One was a made man with Marcello and the other was a made man out of Chicago and it was threatening to become a war. My dad didn’t want me to get caught up in any cross fire, or suspected to be a spy or anything. He said JJ Cale wrote the song Cocaine in the back room of the pier while a pound of coke was poured out into a table to be enjoyed. I assume he was there.
I never did any drugs until I got to Ole Miss, although I was labeled a druggie coast rat like everyone else.

Gas station drugs strike again. I can’t believe kids are stupid enough to take that shite. That is sad.
