BBQ should be served Nekkid. Sauces on the side. Any other way and you are hiding something! Period!

I was of that opinion, no such thing as bad BBQ, some just better than others. Then one cold night in Ashland, KY changed all that. Bad shite!

Was it a place out by the Hampton Inn? I had some terrible barbecue out there, once. Never ate bbq in Ashland again.

His experience with SC BBQ is probably limited to Maurice Bessinger.

That'd be a damn shame. One should never judge SC BBQ based on Maurice's.

It is amazing. Though if you're ever in Bham and want to get it, I suggest ordering the sauce on the side. They sometimes go a little overzealous with it. Best sauce to taste.

That Sweet Tea Fried Chicken

I've tried Sweet Tea chicken and Red Velvet fried chicken. They will make you believe in the glory of mankind again

After hanging out in Nashville I'm on a hot chicken bender right now. Can't get enough (fat)

That sounds like it could be the food equivalent of really, really great sex. Where, exactly, do I need to go for this?? Red Velvet Cake is my favorite dessert EVER and of course being Southern means I covet sweet tea so I need to check this out!

ETA: And to add to what SCLibertarian and GetCocky11 said, Maurice Bessingers is for ppl who don't know any better regarding bbq and what/where it should be experienced while in SC.

First, Myrtle Beach isn't some "culinary mecca". MB is no different than Gulf Shores. Popcorn shrimp and fries! Wahoo!

Furthermore, so you'd like to remove arguably our best culinary city and you get to keep Charleston? Fair enough. I'll still put up the Acadiana Parishes' Cajun food over South Carolina.

Word to the wise, numb-nuts, Acadiana Parishes = Cajun food. New Orleans = Creole food. They are different. Go back to scarfing your chili cheese fries and sliders down your gullet you unenlightened clod.
