Probably invest in art.
Also I would cut a check for a new baseball stadium for MSU.

A lot of people in this thread are either liars, or very boring.
Fast cars, fast women, penthouses, alcohol and drugs. It is what Jesus would do.

Easy to be fiscally responsible when were talking about hypothetical money.

My definition of fiscal responsibility is not leaving your children / relatives any burden of debt. Not hard to accomplish that with 500 million unless you by a mega-yacht, plane etc or you are simply an idiot.

True. I just know I'd rather invest my money and make it stretch. And don't really care to do any blow.

Lump payout.
Various donations to churches and organizations I support. Then...I would purchase:
4,300 acres of well managed timberland, highly improved for recreation, with highway frontage and navigable water frontage on 3 sides, including the Alabama River... all just minutes from I-65 and less than an hour from Mobile, Alabama.
Property Features:
- Ideal for development, conservation, recreation, agriculture and/or timber production
- 6,250+/- feet of frontage on Highway 59
- 9+ miles of water frontage, most of which is navigable, on the Alabama River, Boatyard Lake, Majors Creek, and Pine Log Creek
- EXTREMELY strong potential for use as a Conservation Easement, ideal for individuals with high annual incomes looking for tax shelter.
- Trophy hunting for whitetail deer, turkey, duck, dove, feral hog, squirell and rabbit. Multiple coveys of quail are also present on the property
- 3,400+/- sq ft Lodge with commercial "restaurant quality" equipment. It is built to handle large groups or small family functions, with a social area as well as outdoor, commercial grade male & female bathrooms, ideal for outdoor functions.
- 3 house trailers present on site (no value added, sold as-is)
- Large barn with skinning shed and walk in cooler
- Sporting clay, skeet, pistol, and rifle range
- Stocked Fishing lake with fishing pier and swim pier
- Concrete boat ramp into large lake that opens onto the Alabama River
- Several nice duck ponds with flood controls in place
- Miles of graveled, crowned, and ditched internal roads
- 31-35 established game plots with fruit trees and sawtooth oaks planted as supplemental mast for the game
and
Nice 4 bedroom/3 bath gulf front home with a loft for the kids. Enjoy the gulf views from the extra large deck
and probably a few acres on the Tennessee River and build a log cabin on it. And a place in Alaska with a cabin on it. Then, who knows.. whatever tickled my fancy.

Don't worry Belle we all know your more into heroin.
And what I would actually do is buy enough acreage somewhere with a view of a mountain or with a large lake on it and put on a music festival or two every year.
Just to clarify, alcohol, drugs and strippers would still be heavily involved.

I might would get this too:
This tract consists of 8,200+/-contiguous acres of heavily managed river bottom hardwood, with 13+ miles of water frontage on the Tombigbee River and Alabama River Cutoff.
Located on the Baldwin County Line just south of the community of Carlton, between the Alabama and Tombigbee Rivers, just a few hundred yards from the Upper Delta Wildlife Management... more Area
MAIN LODGE & SECOND CAMP:
- The Lodge overlooks Singleton Lake and a 15+/- acre dove field. It is constructed of cypress harvested off of the property and totals 6,200+/- square feet heated and cooled space, not including the covered wrap around porches.
- Lodge has power, water, central heat and air, and an automated backup generator.
- The Lodge has 6 bedrooms, 4 1/2 bathrooms, a large bunkroom downstairs, and a bunkroom upstairs adjoining the kitchen, sleeping 27 people total.
- The kitchen has all stainless steel appliances, including a commercial grade gas range, and a chest freezer.
- The Lodge's open floor plan is great for socializing, with a large game room area, dining area, bar, large den with 3 leather sofas facing the double sided fireplace and a large TV that is wall mounted on swivels for easy maneuvering during the big game.
- A cleaning shed with power and water sits a few quick steps from the Lodge.
- A second camp on the south end of the property sleeps 8-10 and overlooks the Alabama River cutoff, a body of water that connects the Alabama & Tombigbee Rivers.
- The second camp has power and water, central air, a wood burning stove, full bathroom, kitchen, and large deck.
HUNTING & RECREATION:
- The property has 21+ miles of improved roads along with many more miles of internal roads and trails.
- Established food plots and woods stands are present throughout the property
- Hunting on the property is unparalleled with year round hunting possible.
- Trophy deer are harvested with ease each year, with weights as high as 210 lbs. and spreads as high as 22 inches taken thus far, but larger deer have been seen!
- Turkey hunting is ideal underneath the canopies of the old growth hardwood. Large groups of turkeys and gobblers are seen regularly.
- The duck hunting on the property's 16+ small ponds and sloughs will rival Arkansas most years! Abundant but variable populations of Wood Ducks, Mallards, Teal, Gadwalls, Ring necks, & Mergansers are present on this property.
- Feral Hogs provide a year round hunting opportunity for those that just can't get enough of the outdoors!
- Fishing on any of the large lakes on the property is remarkable

Oh definitely.
I will say I'd buy/create a brewery too. Kentucky themed. And would donate a decent amount of money to UK for various things.
It's just a stupid amount of money to live off of for the rest of your life. I'd have to have something to "do" like a non-profit though or I'd feel like a complete a-hole.

Oh.. one of these as well..
In the skyboxes at Bryant-Denny, fans have the best seat in the house.
"Included in the cost of the skybox are parking passes, food, game day programs, and in the skybox there is furniture and televisions," said Jill Bender, the overseer of Alabama's skyboxes since 2002. "They also come with an attendant to see to their needs the whole game, and most importantly our office is here all year long to help with anything they want

Yep. I'd want to set up some type of trust that could be perpetual. Maybe something along the lines of building a free hotel(s) near children hospitals for parents who had terminally ill children who needed but couldn't afford to stay near their kids when they were hospitalized.

My career goals wouldn't change at all, it would just make the process a little easier to get through. I'd keep my car, my house, ect. I might buy a vacation house in St. George Island, or some other quiet place on the coast.
