I'm self employeed. Mine would.

I would probably get involved in real estate and vacation home rentals, purchasing some prime condo's on the gulf and a few cabins in the Smokey Mtn's as well.

I would opt for payments, but breaking down the $600 million so take these numbers and divide by whatever the payment years are -

35% to Uncle Sam - $210 million
10% to various Churches - $60 million
10% to various charities - $60 million
$100 million to investment
$50 million X 2 trust fund for kids
$25 million to each set of immediate family
$20 million to the checking account to live on
---------------------------------------
$600 million dollars

say 400 million after taxes....

set up a dynasty trust where principal can not be touched and only income can be spent.

part of the income to family
part of the income to charity
part of the income to clean up politics and give merica back to the people

The downside to your plan is human nature and greed. It is amazing how quickly folks with "sudden" money piss through it. When it comes to big money some of the biggest thieves wear suits and are bankers or lawyers.

Well first I would hire a lawyer and an accountant who specializes in tax and estate planning.

I agree with this and it is why would try to whittle down what I can access. I would not even get fancy with the investment part. With that much money, there is no need to try anything risky. I would actually just toss it conservative mutual funds/savings/bonds and hope for a annual return of 1%. I would further break down the investment part, where I would pull out profit over 1% (we are talking $1 million per percent) and repeat the charitable/church giving and began to add extended family members.

Have no idea if this is correct way, but I see no reason to bring lawyers and financial advisers into it.
