I was just pointing out how it's a bit silly for people to say they don't want this to be treated as a political issue
Edit: if the ATF came to my door right now and searched for guns they would find one 30 year old revolver that was given to me when my dad passed away

The point was that I find it sad that there is no middle ground. Left=gun control and right=2nd amendment. So by political issue I meant a party issue.

I think the middle ground is where we are now in regards to federal gun laws. I don't think they should be stricter nor should they be made much looser except that I support a federal law that makes all concealed carry applicable in every state so long as the state that issues it meets minimum requirements. Most on the right don't want complete unrestricted gun control, but we must use the argument as such in order to counteract the left's agenda because most of us believe we have reached a point where enough is enough and we shouldn't give up any more ground. If you don't fight back, then "meeting in the middle" will be more and more gun control each time the argument arises after a mass shooting until eventually owning a gun is impossible. This time it might be background checks, then another shooting will occur, then it will be something else because no gun control will stop mass killings/shootings.
To stop mass killings, you have to address deeper issues in our culture. We have had guns for the existence of our entire country yet these mass killings are a fairly new phenomenon the past few decades. What has changed in our society? To me, it's the increase of broken homes and lack of the nuclear family instilling proper parenting in children, lack of proper mental health care ( I think involuntary commitment needs to come back), lack of discipline in schools and teachers not being able to deal with bullying properly, increase of use of prescription drugs among teenagers, and the welfare state creating more and more people dependent on government (idle mind is the devil's workshop). We don't have a gun problem, we have a culture problem.

You don't want to shoot that Silver Bear crap. I bought a case of 5.56mm Silver Bear at a gun show several years ago because it was cheap. I couldn't get it to feed at all in more than a few rifles and the few that would feed it fouled so bad, that it was acting up after a few hundred rounds.

I find it sad that so many people buy into this Left/Right debate about gun control. The Left wants to disarm the American public. You say it's a small number of people that don't want us to have any guns?
Complete horseshite. First it was banning automatic weapons, then "assault weapons," then high capacity magazines, etc.
You say there's no middle ground. That's because the Left is never satisfied! They've already banned "assault weapons" and "high capacity magazines" in several states. When does it end?
Even with all the strict gun laws in California, we just had a massacre there. Watch what fricking happens with Obama's executive order, he'll say something about how the laws in California weren't enough, and we have to go even further on a national level to prevent mass shootings.
There's no middle ground for a reason! The Left won't stop taking away gun rights until we have an Australian model and our police carry tazers like British fricking dandies.

That silver bear is better than nothing ... but it is Barnaul ammo and not the Golden Tiger quality these days. It's best limited to loose AKs in x39.
Now the Hornaday is good stuff. 500 rounds is a good start!
My general rule is minimum 1000 rounds per rifle for good measure.
Also, this ban that Obama is going to EO is probably going to involve ammo as much as anything.
He'll have a hard time actually banning guns ... but he has tried repeatedly to make ammo unacceptable. So we should expect a drastic "ammo control" component to this EO he is planning.

What clause of the Constitution gives the executive branch power to regulate anything firearm related? If it doesn't cross state lines, it cannot be the interstate commerce clause.
Unconstitutional is unconstitutional

This right here is what the pro gun control people refuse to acknowledge. I've walked the straight and narrow for a minute now and if I wanted to I could have any firearm I wanted in a matter of minutes, couple hours for the exotic stuff.

Obama kept the M1 rifles and carbines in South Korea from coming home to the US for its citizens to own so pretty much frick anything he has to say as it relates to firearms.

Bingo.
More legislation won't stop ne'er–do–well's from procuring weapons--it will only hinder law-abiding citizens from protecting themselves.

I still don't understand why the government would want to take your guns away anyways. They aren't afraid of Buck frickley and his 1000s of rounds of 5.56 when some sweaty guy at a computer can drone his arse from two states over. This homegrown militia fighting the tyrannical government fantasy is hysterical. Y'all wouldn't stand a fricking chance.

Ownership prevents the need for that. But playing devils advocate, hows this Govt done with lesser armed insurgents in say...the middle east?
